Over my career I’ve gotten to do some pretty incredible things. One of them is shooting with @stevenkleinstudio. He is an absolutely incredible artist and a really kind human. He’s worked with the biggest of the big and never made me feel like I didn’t belong. Thank you to all the good hearts in our business who make the hard times worth it. I took this shot last December in the house we rented on Maui. We all had crazy Covid and were in so much pain. It was our first trip to Hawaii since the pandemic. This island has the most special place in my heart and being sick the entire trip sucked beyond on belief. As sick as we were we took Oli to see the giant banyan tree in Lahaina the day before we left. The banyan is gone now along with so many business and homes. Hawaii’s locals depend so much on the tourism places like Lahaina generate and our brothers and sisters there will need our help to rebuild from these devastating wildfires. It’s been an incredibly hard year for the entire world. I hope and pray we will all find empathy and peace. I want a better, kinder, gentler world for my children and all children around the world. The last few days I’ve gotten to be with my family in this magical place and as loud as the voices from home with work and distractions have been, I’m grateful that I have gotten to find some beautiful moments with the most important people in the work to me. My incredible wife caught this moment of pure life. I try to remind myself to stay present in these moments, which isn’t always easy for me. Whether you get a lot of them or only a few, they are rare and special, and really the only thing that matters.
We’re opening our first brick & mortar retail store for @electricandrose and I’m freaking out. It’s so exciting to see this dream continue and to see how excited my incredible wife and partner is. At the same time I’m so nervous about the responsibility and the state of the world and I’m just praying that the world get kinder, that all our children are kept safe, and that our business succeeds.
