Dolphin life is a vibe🐬 . Dolphins surfing, Esperance Western Australia
A week ago on my way to the beach I fell heavily out of my chair and have broken my neck for the second time. After spending the night in Esperance Hospital, I was flown to Royal Perth hospital by the Royal flying Dr Service. Upon arriving in Perth, I had a traction system screwed into the side of my temples, and then a 4 1/2 kg weight hung off of the back to stabilise my neck. I was in that system for approximately 2 1/2 days before going into surgery on Thursday to fuse my neck. The surgery took about 6 1/2 hours and I’m so grateful to say it was successful. I have been very very, lucky not to lose any of the function that I had. As you can imagine, this has been a very harrowing week for not only myself, but also my family. I’ve been so incredibly lucky to have my beautiful wife, children, sister, mother, father as well as their partners by my side through the whole experience. Never once have they left me on my own. I also have such incredible friends that came and picked me up out of the dirt when I fell and took me to where the ambulance could collect me. Then a great group of friends that have also helped by supporting us through this week. It really means the world to me. All the nursing and medical staff have been incredible as well. I will film a video and update you all in more detail at a later stage, but I just wanted to let you know I am okay and heading in the right direction. You can break my stride, but never my spirit xx. I’ll be back doing all the fun shit I love to do and sharing it with you all again soon. Love you all, Jaimen
