Growing up in LA, I have the most incredible memories going to @dodgers games. Watching Tommy Lasorda storm the field to argue a call. Hearing the great Vin Scully on the drives to and from the stadium. The endless impossible strike outs by way of @orelhershiser55 & Fernando Valenzuela…and flash forward to a team today more talented and connected in vision than I’ve seen in my life. Dodger Stadium remains a place of pure joy for me. One thing still left on my bucket list was to sing the national anthem on that field. So I reached out and asked if I could have the honor of doing it for opening day and they said yes. I brought my folks, my love, and a heart full of gratitude for the chance to stand at home plate and honor my country, the game, and what it means to us especially in hard times. Big thanks to THE VOICE @toddleitz for making my dream come true with that announcement and to organ maestro Dieter Ruehle for accompanying me so beautifully. I love baseball. I love the @dodgers. See you again cheering from the stands. 💙 🎥: @lauramendepix
Gloomy days we sleep way in
The other night I had the great honor of hosting and singing at the annual @jazzdotorg gala honoring @itstonybennett. It was a night of incredible music and food and friends, celebrating a man and artist who meant so much to us and to the creation of Jazz @ Lincoln Center. Sharing the stage with so many people I admire so much was a dream. A perfect NYC night. Thank you @wyntonmarsalis for having me and for the gorgeous arrangement of Smile you and the orchestra did, and to Tony’s family for the gift of one of Tony’s red pocket handkerchiefs he performed with. I will treasure it forever. And let the music play…. ❤️🎶

A rare treat to hang in the press box for a bit during the @dodgers game tonight and watch @orelhershiser55 and @joedavispxp call a couple innings. They make it look so easy but it’s such a vibe to get right along with all the stats and they do it flawlessly. One of those innings brought @shoheiohtani’s first dodger home run. Baseball magic. Thanks so much for the hospitality, gents. #gododgers 🪄⚾️

Thrilled to catch @akimbomusical in its final 2 weeks and to see my friend @victoriajclark’s transformative and tour de force performance in the title role. The whole cast took me on the most wonderful emotional ride. (And @beltingbons it should be illegal to be that funny and sing that well). Congrats on an incredible run everyone!!!

Congregated at the church of Springsteen last night at @thekiaforum and left feeling like my soul had taken a bath. Truly one of the best shows I’ve ever seen in my life but to those around me who have seen him 50 times, that’s nothing new. For me it was the first. He sounds incredible, he had us on our feet and punching the air, but the thing that really had me was his almost telepathic synergy with E Street. They are intertwined on a cellular level and it was an honor to see it live. Thank you so much @kshaun3 and @spillbergrich and the @springsteen crew for the warmest welcome and to the legend Kevin Bruell for showing us THE guitar. Long live The Boss.
