Marcus Samuelsson Instagram – This weekend I was saddened to hear about the passing of an incredible local artist, @FaithRinggold. She was an icon in Harlem and far beyond, beloved for fusing art and advocacy. Her work explored themes of race, gender, class, family and community across many mediums but she was best known for her incredible quilts. I’ve always been a huge fan of Faith’s art, her purpose, her journey, and I loved giving some of her work a temporary home in @RoosterHarlem for our guests to experience and enjoy. You can find her works in some of the most prestigious museums in the world – and currently our @VibeBBQ in Newark. What a gift she gave us all. | Posted on 15/Apr/2024 23:38:00
