Mike Pyle Instagram – Since the rain seems to keep coming in Southern California, here are some tips to ensure you’re not killing your drought-tolerant plants.
🌱 Stick your finger in the soil up to the second knuckle. If the dirt on your finger feels dry, it’s time to water! of Give it a good soak until the water runs out from the drainage hole.
🌱 Make sure you use a pot with a drainage hole or a porous material like tarocotta that’ll suck out the moisture quickly.
You don’t want your succulent sitting in extra water for too long.
🌱 Do not use a spray bottle to mist between waterings! Succulents store water in their leaves so if you spray them, the extra moisture could cause rot.
