Nathaniel Buzolic Instagram – The Antonia Fortress was a citadel built by Herod the Great. It was a fortress whose chief function was to protect the Jewish Second Temple. It was built in Jerusalem at the eastern end of the Second Wall, at the north-western corner of the Temple Mount. From Here one could oversee the Jewish temple just as one sees the dome of the rock today. This is also the possible known location where Jesus stood before Pontius Pilate (the 5th governor of the Roman province of Judaea) and put on trial. Pilate would famously ask Jesus this question “what is truth?” He would then go out to the Jewish crowds and say “I find no fault in this man” For the Christian we know Jesus, based on his own words claims to be the way, the TRUTH and the life. The truth was standing in front of Pilate, but Pilate couldn’t see it. The Jewish presence in this land is undeniable. However the world doesn’t want to see the truth, a truth that is standing in front of us if we even cared to look back at history. The world wants to condemn the Jewish people for defending themselves against a radical ideology of hate that committed a violent massacre on October 7th and vows to do it again and again. The masses once again seem to get it wrong. Let’s not forget that what Jesus also said in John’s gospel – “In fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering service to God.” When innocent unarmed Jews were being raped, murdered, tortured and kidnapped by Hamas – Let us not forget what chants and celebrations these men of lawlessness made.
