It’s extra special to be running the Boston Marathon during my Mom’s birthday weekend. Boston is one of her favorite cities (if you know Theresa, you know she loves her Red Sox!) and she’s always loved the excitement of Marathon Monday. It’s so meaningful to share this experience with her and my Dad because nothing I do would be possible without the love, countless life lessons, and belief-in-self they’ve instilled in me. Growing up, I was never athletic and didn’t have any big sporting moments for them to attend. I love that we can now share in these events together, especially when it’s for a mission so close to my heart: inclusion in sport with #Runner321 and supporting @chrisnikic and @albert_marshall321. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM! Thank you for embodying unconditional love and kindness, and inspiring me with your example. I celebrate you every day, always. So happy we are together today. ❤️🫶🏼
💙💛🏔️❄️ Highlights from Mammoth Mountain ⤵️ @iamaj and I wanted to plan a fun getaway to celebrate two decades of friendship, so we took a road trip to @MammothMountain with my @IkonPass. Not only was the fresh snow and skiing perfect, we had just as much fun with all the aprés festivities. The Village at Mammoth Mountain has so many delicious, cozy restaurants. I also had one of the best cups of Matcha in my life – shout out to Vida Coffee – and we loved the candy apples and specialty sweets from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. We stayed at the @westinmammoth which I highly recommend. It’s located right at the base of the slopes, has the most comfortable and well-designed rooms, and the hot tub / spa is a perfect way to wind down. Their Whitebark Restaurant was our favorite – I loved everything on their “Eat Well” menu, especially the grilled halloumi. The Ikon Pass unlocks so many exciting opportunities to combine travel and adventure…two of my favorite things! I’m excited to continue discovering Ski Resorts around the world…thinking the slopes in Japan might be next?! Thank you to #IkonPass for the amazing trip. #MammothMountain #ad #WestinMonache
The most beautiful baby shower to celebrate @iamaly and @auhasardspr’s growing family. One of the greatest honors of my life is to be your child’s Godfather. How lucky they are to join such a beautifully loving family and community. 💜 I can’t wait to meet them.

@chrisnikic lives every day to the fullest and I loved making the most of his 24 hour trip to LA! We had a fun, action-packed day, hanging out and getting ready for the Boston Marathon! 🕶️ Chris gave an incredible, inspiring, and hilarious keynote talk at @goodr. 🥑 We had lunch at Blue Taco by the beach. Chris wanted a Mexican bowl that rivaled his beloved Chipotle and they delivered! 💪🏼 Got our pump on at Muscle Beach AND the Mecca – Gold’s Gym Venice, where Chris outlifted me on the pull-ups (but I got him on bicep curls and rows). 🏃🏻 Ran 10k as part of our prep for the upcoming Boston and London Marathons: 5k sightseeing down the Venice Boardwalk and 5k with @rungoodr Run Club, where Chris was their honorary guest. 🍚🕺 Dinner and clubbing with @iamaj. It was beyond special to introduce two of my favorite people in the world, and to see them instantly hit it off. I’m grateful to have a friend like Chris, who so effortlessly embodies unconditional love and support of others, and who encourages us to live in the moment and find the joy and spontaneity in everything. Can’t wait for more fun and adventures in Boston very soon! #Runner321 #BostonMarathon #LondonMarathon #running #runningcommunity

Today is World Down Syndrome Day, a global awareness day advocating for the rights, inclusion and well being of people with Down syndrome. I want to celebrate and honor my good friend, Chris Nikic, a trailblazer in this movement. I admire how Chris is busting stereotypes, creating opportunities for inclusion and hope for people with intellectual disabilities, and brightening the day of everyone he meets. We’re excited to share this documentary short that we created to encourage more people to get involved with @chrisnikic’s #Runner321 movement as coaches and guides. When I started training for my first IRONMAN, I would search social media for inspiration and to connect with other triathletes. At the time, Chris was training to make history as the first person with Down Syndrome to complete an IRONMAN. I instantly connected with his mission of promoting inclusion in sports, combating stereotypes, and demonstrating that we are all capable of so much more than we realize. Chris and I have been friends for several years now, with adventures taking us from our homes in Florida and California, to around the world. His 1% better philosophy of training has inspired countless athletes around the world (myself included!), and he’s building a Center of Excellence in Florida to train and support athletes with Down Syndrome and other Intellectual Disabilities to achieve personal milestones in sports and in life. Guiding Chris in Berlin, under the mentorship and friendship of @amandakenny87, was such a fun and meaningful experience. I’m so grateful to be part of the #Runner321 guiding team, alongside Amanda, @rhondamvetere, @christine_m_conti, and many other esteemed runners. Many thanks to @karamnwitali for documenting this adventure! #WorldDownSyndromeDay #Runner321 #BerlinMarathon #chrisnikic
Running with @apple @applefitness to kick off LA Marathon week! Apple organized an inspiring event bringing together Run Club Captains and leaders dedicated to community and inclusion in our sport. This was a full circle experience. I started my own endurance sports journey doing workouts in my living room during quarantine in 2020 with Apple Fitness . It was meaningful to directly thank the team, and share how they have empowered me during my journey. I’ve been using Apple products since my very first run. Here are some of my favorite features: ✅ Pacer: This is literally game changing. You choose a distance, then a target finish time, and this training experience provides the required pace you need to sustain to achieve it. During your run, the pace alerts help you meet your goal. ✅ Sharing Activity Rings Milestones: You can share your Fitness data with friends, including alerts when you finish workouts. You can also compete with your friends to close your activity rings….my sister and I get very competitive with this one. 😈 They also offer digital medals and coins for workout streaks and key milestones. I was excited to collect my first marathon and ultramarathon coins. ✅ Running Metrics including Vertical Oscillation, Stride Length, Ground Contact Time, Power. These can be shared with a coach, trainer, or physical therapist to assess your form, injury prevention, and optimize your stride. ✅ Haptics and Voice Feedback: During your run, these alerts will guide you to hit your time and distance goals; and inform you when to switch between work and recovery. ✅ Automatic track detection: Apple Watch detects when you arrive at an outdoor track, and uses both Apple Maps data and GPS to provide the most accurate distance, pace and route map. It can even detect your lane! ✅ Race Route: Routes that you repeat often will be reflected in the Workout app for you to race against your last or best result. You’ll receive alerts for being ahead, behind, or off route. 🍏 P.S. You know I am a fruit plate connoisseur…Apple wins for the most beautiful spread I’ve ever seen. Very on brand with their immaculate visuals! Photos: Bang Bang for Apple

🇯🇵🏃🏻Tokyo Marathon Recap & Takeaways 🫂 It’s all about the people. This is the second marathon I’ve run as a guide for @chrisnikic. I can’t think of a better way to do a marathon than with friends. Chris is so present and lifts everyone’s energy. We had so many positive, encouraging interactions with fellow runners and spectators. These are the memories I will cherish most. I’m always grateful to connect with friends I’ve made through the running 🌎 and to meet new people. It was especially exciting to reunite with a few @sohohouserunclub runners! 🗼The #TokyoMarathon has a distinct, beautiful energy. This wasn’t a hyped-up, boisterous marathon. I can count on one hand the number of times we heard music blasting. The crowd wasn’t dense. The overall tone felt respectful, reverent, and open-hearted. Many volunteers waved handwritten signs and offered homemade snacks (I had a delicious rice ball and many Japanese sweets). I loved seeing the unique anime costumes and beautiful cultural performances. There were groups doing traditional dances and drumming, which brought a visceral pulse to the race that I felt in my chest. 🫧 This was the cleanest course I’ve ran, which tracks with the respect for public places so inherent to Japanese culture. There are strict rules around aid stations, litter, and what you can bring on course. You can get DQ’d for dropping a gel or water cup outside of designated areas. 📝 Logistics: 1️⃣ If you are in a later corral, be mindful that there are several cut off points, based on the start time of the marathon *not* your individual start. 2️⃣ There aren’t as many bathrooms as in other races, and lines for most porta potties. Some bathrooms are located a few mins walk off the course. 3️⃣ For the first half of the marathon, very few aid stations offer on-course nutrition. 4️⃣ Bring layers for a spectrum of weather. 5️⃣ Official merch sells out fast — arrive early at the Expo. ✈️ Allow time to enjoy the magical food, culture, and history in Tokyo. Japanese culture has a deep respect and appreciation for running, and I felt that sense of gravitas. I LOVED this trip and can’t wait to return. #TOKYOMYFAVORITEPLACE
Best way to discover a new city? Go for a walk or run, with no agenda or set mileage.* My jet lag in Tokyo meant that I was wide awake at 3, 4am with plenty of energy to go for a run. There’s something simultaneously meditative and exhilarating about being the only one on the road during those quiet hours, exploring a new environment that’s normally bustling with people. Loved seeing so many temples and monuments lit up in the signature neon Tokyo light. Thank you @ecpgram for journeying around Tokyo with me! *Of course, it’s important to do some research beforehand to make sure where you’re running is safe, and pair up with a buddy if you can!
