It was an honour to be one of the hosts for Comic Relief tonight on Sir Len’s last night doing it. People are struggling and so reaching in your pocket is harder than ever but it was great to see such an amazing total so far. I know some people get hardened to charity and tv hosts asking people for money but what I think we can all agree is I look like a right wanker perched on a box for this photo.
I said I’d never run a marathon but here I am. I’m not sure where I’d be today if I didn’t get help when I hit rock bottom. In fact, I don’t know if I’d be here at all. So, I want to help to make sure more people know about CALM’s life-saving services, as well as raising as much money as I can. CALM answers a call for help every 59 seconds. That’s a hell of a lot of calls even just in the time I’m going to run the marathon. We don’t want anyone to struggle alone. That’s where you come in. £8 is how much it costs to fund a potentially life-saving chat on CALM’s helpline. It’s a no brainer. Last week our amazing Icon @romeshranga joined us at our Teenage Cancer Trust unit at @alderhey Children’s Hospital. He had the chance to meet some of the young people we support and their families, as well as Teenage Cancer Trust Nurses and Youth Support Coordinators, to find out more about the work we do. A big thank you to Romesh for his continued support, helping to make sure cancer doesn’t stop young people from living their lives 💙
