Wow…what can we say: Celebrating TWO amazing years of The Pivot and reflecting back on it all! From making headlines to sitting with headliners to breaking records to breaking barriers, The Pivot transcended the podcast space and evolved into a platform with locker room conversations where strangers became family. One word comes to mind and it’s GRATITUDE! We appreciate all of the support and although the numbers are impressive and it’s not lost upon us what we’ve built, For us it’s about the IMPACT and the People. Today truly is about each of you who has supported us, wrote us, followed us, cried with us, laughed at us and with us or the people who come up to us in the airport to say thank you & stop us to share how a conversation helped them…Grateful to our guests for their vulnerability, who trust us with their stories and allow us to be the #1 destination for sports & entertainment. Marikit Laurico took her last breath on March 31st 2023, but to the people who knew & love “Kitchie” her spirit will never leave us. “You can die & come back a million times. You can’t find that energy.” If you asked what Kitchie’s job title was it would have read “Floyd Mayweather’s Assistant”. If you asked her responsibilities it would have read “EVERYTHING”. Ironically we sat with @floydmayweather days before the “Only Super Bowl she wanted to go to”. She was Floyd’s best friend, most loyal supporter, & confidant. Even the man who could buy anything can’t buy back that authenticity, love, & dedication. The tears that flowed down his face are the physical manifestation of the immense grief her loss has caused for many, most importantly the Champ. Today, finding out that The Pivot is nominated for an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Hosted Edited Series is truly remarkable and the recognition from our peers and media industry is overwhelming and appreciated. It’s been a lot of sleepless nights, early mornings, long drives from state to state and sacrifices but we wouldn’t trade the journey for anything! We’ve redefined the word Pivot and built this from the ground up…people always ask how big our team is and we look around at each other and say: This is us. Not enough words to describe the impact of Ryan, Channing and Fred- so much respect and credit for pivoting from football careers to finding the right balance and put their own spin on what this show could be, and ALWAYS being your true selves. Through vulnerability of not being afraid to openly share or show emotion or shed tears or be brutally honest at times, we’ve created a platform people have come to love and respect. And Extreme gratitude to all of the people and guests who have given us their time, trusted us with their story, laughed with us, cried with us and helped make The Pivot what it is today. No coincidence that having @gayleking on The Pivot turned out to be one of my absolute favorite conversations we have had on our platform🎙️🕊️Kitchie always raved about Gayle to me for years, so when we first started The Pivot, she said we had to get her on! Although we weren’t quite “there” yet to sit with the media icon then, last year Kitchie introduced me to Gayle and instantly I understood all the reasons why she wanted us to meet and even more so to have her on our show.
