This is the face of a full up, chilled out, very happy woman. If you’ve followed me on here for a while you’ll know I struggle with slowing down so I usually have to literally leave the country to quiet my mind 😂 this week I took a few days to myself as a reset @mayrlife_official
I did it for my BIG birthday last year & swore I would try to keep it as a tradition. This place is incredible – on the edge of a lake in Austria. It rained, was gloriously sunny & snowed all in 4 days… I did cryotherapy (swipe for video evidence, it was -110 degrees 🥶), a sound bath, lymphatic drainage, feldenkrais and all sorts of other things that have left me feeling stronger and brighter than I have in a long time.
Here are some things I learned that I’ll be taking home & you can use too. Share any you have below as I’d love to hear them xx
{-} Eat food without distraction-no phones, no tele, no reading (I KNOW!!) it’s so alien but even full blown chat at the dinner table often means I’m ramming food in on autopilot, I leave the table and wonder what I even had. ☎️
{-} CHEW your food! More than you think is necessary, actually more than even feels normal. Apparently 40-60 times, I know, it’s a lot but it works. Good digestion starts in the mouth, not the stomach. 👄
{-} SLOW DOWN. Literally my life lesson. And it will take more than a few days in Austria but… taking moments. Try to brush your teeth slowly, walk down the stairs at a snails pace, wash the dishes in slow mo. Attach it to things you already do so it can become a reminder/habit. 🧘🏻♀️
{-} Stress is NOT the one. Often I’m focused on what I put in, how healthy I am day-to-day that I forget to fully appreciate the impact of stress on my health. Busyness isn’t as cute as I thought. 🤯
{-} BELLY breathe. When you remember. Proper deep breaths to slow the mind, body and nervous system. I have set an alarm to remind me to breathe!! 🤌🏻 💨 don’t come for me!!
Save this to come back to after Easter!!
