Easter was blissful. We missed Ada so much… but know she is exploring our nation’s capital and having a ball. Iyla got a note from the Easter Bunny to share her basket of eggs. This assignment spread more cheer than even the Easter Bunny could have anticipated. ♥️ So much joy and adults being reminded of how it felt to find an egg with treats inside. We fell asleep listening to the rain and woke up to crisp clean fresh air and beautiful skies. We ate delights I gathered from our Farmer’s market this Friday. Good friends and beautiful love, hopefully resurrected. ♥️🤞 ♥️
Iyla as Ariana Grande this morning. She said she was supposed to dress up as a film character or a her favorite character from a book. She said “I’m definitely going as Ariana Grande she was in Sam and Cat… it’s a show and it should have been a film.” Iyla says very convincingly. We are in the middle of a move, this morning came to quickly for my tired body. Not to mention Iyla disclosed this spirit weeks task 25 min before exit ville. So we went with it. I chose not to share the nasty nasty BS I’m learning associated with the network that produced the show and i believe responsible for launching AG’a career. She is such a talented young woman. I have like most of you all followed this story. It makes me sick to my stomach and infuriates me striking too many personal chords. So many stories of young Hollywood just are left unspoken. It breaks my heart beyond words… but today, this morning…. It was all about the admiration and fascination my 8 year old has for Ariana. I loved that. Simply, for today Iyla is unaware of the story. And that was the gift. Clearly won’t be hashtagging any if them. 👎

What a beautiful day it was… I finally got to take the mushroom foraging class that Brando Farr offers. Met an super fun group of adults who were considerably more colorful than I was. I had forgotten it was St. PATRICKS day. We started the discussion on a beautiful old oak. Brando took his time honoring the land on which we stood and the mycelium beneath the soil. We discussed our safety and the safety of our environment. Respecting the mushrooms critical role in all that surrounded us. We were not there to fill our bags.We were there to celebrate the process, educate ourselves as much as we could in 2 hours and find treasures that were ready for the picking. I enjoyed the class, learned a lot and definitely fed my curiosity. If you ever have the opportunity to take an excursion with Brando, I strongly suggest it. When I walk alone I often sing these chants or songs. They just come out and I allow them with out judgment or need for words. Certainly not for the quality of my vocals but rather to announce my presence to animals that maybe around the corner, so neither of us are surprised. Pumas are like giant house cats that would prefer to scatter before a human contact. I also find this to be a beautiful practice for soothing my parasympathetic nervous system. Unfortunately, I suffer from Complex PTSD. The walking is a bilateral stimulation of sort, also very helpful.
