Let’s all take a moment to wish our favorite blonde, Hollywood and entertainment icon Barbara Eden a very VERY Happy Birthday today! Share your birthday wishes for Ms. Eden here as she celebrates her 92nd Birthday! -Team Eden
Happy anniversary to all the talented, dedicated, hard-working, lovely people who made “I Dream of Jeannie,” the iconic and magical series that still continues to air in syndication! Over the decades, so many have asked me if I ever thought “Jeannie” would be thought of, or “last” this long. The answer, no. At the time, we were all just happy to be working, doing what we loved to do. I love acting and playing “Jeannie” was wonderful work and a wonderful character that I feel blessed to have had five years playing. She’s a sweet, GOOD character who provided me with the ability to bring joy and laughter through my acting to so many lovely people. She’s always there, over my shoulder, giggling and being a silly happy girl… in PINK! So few actors have the opportunity to portray a character that endears them to the public. Jeannie has done this for me, and I am both grateful and humbled by so much love and affection from so many, even still to this day! I truly thank everyone for keeping the magic alive! Happy Anniversary, Jeannie! XO -Barbara Eden #idreamofjeannie #larryhagman #billdaily #happyanniversary #barbaraeden #classictv #haydenrorke #hollywoodicon #sidneysheldon
Oh dear Tony Bennett, I just now received the news of his passing today. What a performer Tony was! More than that, he was a very warm and sensitive man, and I ADORED his music. As a girl from San Francisco, how could I not?! I so enjoyed his work with @ladygaga in the past few years as well. His music is a legacy that will surely last forever. Rest well, Tony. -Barbara
Poor thing, all she wanted to know was when she was born! It took them four weeks to find out the date! Of course, no thanks to nosey Dr. Bellows! Happy Birthday Jeannie! Still in pink and still looking over my shoulder! She’s a good girl and a great character. So happy to have been welcomed into your homes and given the chance to give so many the giggles for so many years! -Barbara #idreamofjeannie #classictv #happybirthdayjeannie

I just saw the news of the passing of Tom Smothers. I had the pleasure (and so much fun) working with them on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. Oh boy, were those boys such a kick! Their talent, from music to comedy, was a joy to be a part of. My heartfelt condolences to Tom’s widow, Marcy, as well as his children Bo and Riley. But most of all, to his dear brother Dick, the two of them were like two cogs in a well-oiled talent machine. God speed, Tom! You made us all laugh and drove the CBS censors crazy! Surely you’re inciting laughter up in Heaven! -Barbara Eden #thesmothersbrothers #tomsmothers #rip

This past Thursday night I had the pleasure of attending at UCLA the screening of “The Musicians’ Green Book: An Enduring Legacy.” It is a beautifully crafted documentary film that covers and details the history of black musicians during the time of segregation in the South. With me in this photo (left to right): Jazz Vocalist Josephine Beavers, Pianist & Musicians’ Green Book talent H.B. Barnum, myself, and Singer Freda Payne. -Barbara Photo credit: George DeLoache

Saturday, we lost a star. From the stages of New York to the big screen and small screen, my dear friend Rita McKenzie did it all. Many of you may remember the two of us touring together in Neil Simon’s Odd Couple (Female Version).  Rita’s stage career spanned decades however and her tour of Ethel Merman’s Broadway is still considered the longest-running one-woman show in history as Rita toured her show across the world. Outside the theater Rita opened for greats such as Steve Allen, Don Knotts, Milton Berle, and countless others. On the small screen she appeared everywhere from Frasier, Caroline in the City, and Daddy Dearest among others. Beyond those and so many other accolades and professional accomplishments, Rita was my dear friend. I have such warm and delightful memories of our years touring together. Rita was larger than life, a magnanimous woman whose warmth of heart, kindness and compassion flowed with abundance. When you spoke to Rita, she spoke with a sincerity and familiarity that proved Rita did not care if you were a stranger, or a longtime friend; you got the genuine article. Rita was a breath of fresh air full of boisterous laughter that warmed you to the core. My deepest condolences to her dear husband Scott, in this difficult time. Thanks to Scott, I am so very thankful that Rita and I were able to do two more shows together last year. Rita and I had an unspoken understanding of each other, our chemistry together was undeniable and a joy to have. When you act for a living, working with other actors you have a rhythm with is so very important. It makes the production much smoother, and, in our case, it fueled a friendship off-stage as well. Rita, you marched to the beat of your own drum and thankfully my drum just happened to keep in time with yours… and I’m so very thankful to have known you, worked with you and called you, my friend. While your star on the stage may no longer shine in theaters, it is sparkling brightly in the heavens above us. Barbara
