Beatie Edney Instagram – For Mothering Sunday – this is to all the motherless people out there. To those of us whose mothers have died. To those of us who never knew their mothers. To those of us who weren’t mothered and those of us who aren’t mothers ourselves – the childless ones. I was lucky enough to have a mother. She was by no means perfect, but she was great in her way. She lost her own mother, to suicide, when she was only 12. This perhaps explains her lifelong struggles. She loved her children fiercely and she lived a long and exciting life. She also had many surrogate children. Perhaps, her need to mother was linked to the loss of her own parent at such a young and vulnerable age. I send much love to you all.
