My dead Dad’s birthday today. Never doubted his love. God he was clever, well-read and so practical. He could quote you any poem and mend anything. His knowledge was encyclopaedic. Before Google I could just phone him to ask a question. Brilliant ballroom dancer. A gourmand and wine connoisseur. Very sporty first with Judo and then Squash, which my brother plays to this day. Happy birthday Dad! (In these photos with my mum and me as a baby. Seen helping mum with her lines, which I never remember him doing.) He would be 92 today. He died in December 2013. ♥️#father #dad #dead #birthday #remembrance

Thames Water not only poison our rivers. 3 days ago they installed metres in our street. No notice or request to do so. My neighbour Paul was at his father’s funeral. Installing his water meter they somehow cut off his water supply and he hasn’t had water now for 3 days. They’re digging up his porch now. Drilling in the street at 9.45 at night isn’t great. Apparently their customer service is terrible too. They just want profit. Thinking of refusing to pay my bill.

My dad died in 2013. Here he is with me as a baby, helping my mum with her lines and with my brother. Great dad!
Today is National Pet Day. Let’s celebrate by donating to an animal shelter like @themayhew – they help loads of animals and people too. There are many homeless people in the UK who cannot go into shelters as they have to give up their pets. The Mayhew helps them and those who need respite care for their pets.

The cherry blossom is almost gone. When I walk Button my dog I often listen to talking books. At the moment it’s ‘I’m Not As Well As I Thought I Was’ read and written by @rubywax – so so very good.
