I woke up the morning I wrote this song after having a dream that the relationship I was in had ended. It was almost like my heart knew it was going to happen before I wanted to believe it. It’s hard to let people go.
Your heart wrestles with the fact that someone who was once your whole world, isn’t anymore. Social media sure doesn’t make it easy either, as we all see when our exes move on :). This song is my story of that realization and also that acceptance. That it’s not “my place” anymore…
Out tonight at midnight. Link in bio to pre-save my new album 💛
FANS 🥲 I said it on stage but I’ll say it again. You changed my whole world in 2018 when I won “Breakthrough Video of Year” and tonight was a true moment of gratitude for the last 7 years. Thank you for loving the kind of music I write and for this award for “Collaborative Video of the Year” for We Don’t Fight Anymore. I’m so very grateful and will continue giving you my all 🤍🤍🤍🤍 #CMTawards

Y’all meet Sydney. Tonight at the show in Seattle, she had a sign that said “Can I sing Never Wanted To Be That Girl with you?” I didn’t see it until the end of my set, and on a whim asked her if she knew the words to What He Didn’t Do… then this happened. Hey Sydney, you reminded me tonight of what dreams are made of. (And also, look at her go!!!!!!!! ❤️😭‼️🤍)

‘No matter what your story is, you can own it and be proud of it’ 🙌
Grammy award-winning country artist @carlypearce joined @bbcnuala recently and spoke about the shame she felt after going through a very public divorce.
Carly was speaking during our Woman’s Hour special programme about women and country music 🎶
She told Nuala that writing songs whilst going through the break-up felt like writing a diary, but Carly hopes that the album, 29: Written In Stone, will help people see that pain can be turned into purpose, and encourage people to be kinder to themselves, own their story and be proud of it.
You can listen to the full interview with Carly on @bbcsounds – it’s the special bank holiday episode
of Woman’s Hour about women and country music from 1 April 🎧
Have you experienced something similar? 🤔 What are your thoughts? 💭
