Birthday lunch for my dad at the local Turkish we’ve been going to for birthdays for over 20 years ❤️. Turkuaz Catford is always on point. (He’s smiling now, but having only landed back last week after months back home in Jamaica this English cold snap is hitting him hard. So he’s been cussing 😂😩). Anyway, happy birthday big man. We are who we are because of you ❤️❤️
Just casually hanging out on the roof of @couttsbank last night ahead of hosting a beautiful private dinner alongside @forbesfamilygroup with some very special and talented women 💖. Dress: @karen_millen Shoes: @reiss Earrings: @amazon MUA: @_shirleyannedapaah
A plea to the fat/wide feet community, of which I am a fully-fledged card carrying member. I need your help 😩
Superb dinner at @langham_london celebrating my aunt’s birthday with one of her oldest friends @clariscia_cg and my brother @joshuawhite__ The Good Front Room is a brilliant space curated by @chefdomtaylor and his team. Jamaican food with a fine dining twist. Ridiculously happy that we secured a table before the end of its run. If you can squeeze it in before it finishes at the end of April, I’d highly recommend it! Also, yes… that is my 70 aunt rocking that one shoulder top like the fashionista she’s always been (I immediately bought the same top). And her bestie Clariscia rocking her @philiptreacy hat. These two maaaaan. My brother, however, rocked up dressed like was going to the corner shop for milk. Kmt.

The views outside our room in Worcestershire last week… re-posting on the grid as folk were asking to see it again after it disappeared from my Stories. The 5mins of sunshine we got in between the torrential downpours had to be filmed, since the rest of the two days away were spent soaking wet and freezing, with the kids complaining they were cold 😩. Gotta love a typical English Easter Holidays 😂.
Join me and the @itvlondon team for our special London Mayor debate featuring the 4 main candidates- tonight from 6pm on ITV and ITVX
Bit of a throwback treat for y’all … me presenting @bbcthree 60 Second News back in 2007!! It was my first ever job in TV News, after I was “spotted” by the Editor Nicky Schiller while I was working at BBC Radio 1Xtra. Nicky’s kindness, mentorship, and belief in me set me on the path to a TV career I love. My gosh, look at that lil’ fresh face, before children stole my sleep 😂.
My long time bezzie @djoptic has incurable sarcoma cancer, and on Saturday night the girlies supported his wife (and my friend obvs) @mrsamymcdonald at the @sarcoma_uk charity ball. It’s our 2nd year going. Last year we were so overblown by the beautiful community the charity has created we had to all go again this year, and I volunteered my services as host. Hosting meant keeping it together when on the mic, but in the interim trying not to completely fall apart crying as it was a constant reminder of what Darrell, Amy and the kids live with everyday – and the rollercoaster they and us have been through since he was first diagnosed in 2020. Cancer sucks. I mean, like, really really sucks. But the joy in that room on Saturday night was electrifying, despite the cloud of cancer floating high up in that room, and its footprints sitting on the hearts of all of us. But we danced, we sang, we ate. We laughed, we cried, and cried again. Thank-you to the Sarcoma community for welcoming us into your family. As we continue to navigate life with our friends living with it as a constant companion. Check out @sarcoma_uk … their work is phenomenal. And my friend Darrell has written a book about living with Sarcoma cancer, called “Straight Red”. It’s only £4.99 on Amazon and all proceeds go to Sarcoma UK. And I know I’m biased, but it’s brilliant.

There’s one complaint I hear a lot from my parent mates: the ever-shortening attention spans of their kids, writes Charlene White. With advancements in technology, and the utter joy young people get from apps such as TikTok and Snapchat, consuming entertainment in short bursts is becoming the preferred method. I think the worry we all have as parents is what impact that will have on our kids later on in life. What happens if they simply can’t concentrate on anything for long enough? It’s hard for us because it’s a world that we as adults are navigating for the first time – it was just never like this when we were growing up. And yes, before nay-sayers start complaining, I know each generation goes through stuff the previous generation did not, but the pace of the change is the thing we’re all finding difficult. It’s hard to keep up. But what responsibility do we have as parents to not allow technology to completely take over the pace at which our kids develop? It’s something that’s been playing on my mind for a while now, as my two start getting older. Continue reading @charlenewhite’s column at the link in @theipaper’s bio. There, White shares how she’s trying to improve her kids’ attention spans with live music and CBBC.
