Chloé Hayden Instagram – Fun fact: for my teenage life I wore solely prairie and period style dresses, insisted on calling my parents ‘ma and Pa’ (they’re still that in my phone, and dad is now still solely known as ‘papa’ by the whole family) my favourite place was Sovereign Hill, where I would literally just cosplay and help out the workers for the entire time, I watched Little House On The Prairie multiple times a day (still my favourite show) and I would even ride my horses in long dresses with nothing but an old rope around their neck. Playing dress up and playing pretend was like therapy; it was switching off, it was removing myself from a world that was oh so scary and where I was oh so different, and placing myself in a world where nothing mattered. Spending a few days in the magic of Bowral for the @bridgertonnetflix premiere was genuinely healing in a way that I did not expect and has reminded me to take more time to play pretend, to dress in my favourite clothes ‘just because’ (no matter how impractical) to explore, to create. In whatever way you can, I urge you to do the same 💛
