I grew up with a glamorous mother @daylehaddon who wore Dior and worked with that illustrious fashion house for many magazines, films and events, all my years growing up. Most everyone thinks their mother is amazingly beautiful, as they should, but I also had irrefutable proof, and admired her greatly for it! I made many friends when I went to school in Paris, one of which is the extraordinarily kind and magical @mathildefavier who is the PR Director at Dior, and it was so lovely to have those two worlds collide last night at the @dior fashion show in the Brooklyn Museum. The show was spectacular and it was so much fun to be decked in Dior alongside my mom, and meet all her longtime friends from her career in the fashion world. She is so loved and has always carried herself with such grace, class and a passion for what she does. It surprises me when someone sends me a clip or photo I’ve done and I don’t remember having done it. For a moment it’s like catching yourself in a mirror and for a few seconds, thinking it is someone else! What a wonderful moment to spend time with this legend; Harry Belafonte, a great talent and even greater human being. He championed civil rights and did extensive humanitarian work here and in Africa. We honored him at the UNICEF Gala for his philanthropy work and I had a chance to share stories, laughter and came away so moved by his humility with all he had done. He was a true gentleman, kind, thoughtful and very funny. In his passing a great light has gone out but his generous works and spirit remains. My prayers are with his family.
