My first holiday without drink since I was 16 🥂🍻
(Yes I did sip a few underaged cocktails back in the day, but I’m not recommending it)
I’ve been sober curious for probably the last 12 months… WHY?
Because my hangovers gave me severe anxiety and moments of depression that lasted for days if not weeks!
I toyed with idea all of last year about going sober but I was worried about social situations, what people might think and how I would go about telling people…
Then 2024 hit and I saw a quote “you can do more in 1 year sober than you ever could in 10 years of drinking”
I’ve not drank since December 2023 and HOLY SH*T!!!
That quote couldn’t be more true
This has been the biggest and most successful 3 months of my life and that’s saying a lot following on from last years Dancing Win
I’ve done more, had more clarity and been more successful in these 3 months than I ever could surviving on hangovers, anxiety and the fear.
I’ve also NEVER felt happier or more fulfilled
I do plan on introducing a glass of wine back into my life in the future as anyone that knows me knows I adore a sauv or a glass or Prosecco 🥂
But for the foreseeable this is the new normal for me and I’m ABSOLUTELY loving every minute
