Emily Barker Instagram – 2024 is about putting MYSELF FIRST in every single situation ✨
For years I’ve tried the whole “self love” and giving back to myself and making time for myself
But I’ve actually genuinely never been able to commit
“I’ve got a tour coming up, I’m dancing on a super important show, work hard to come first always”
I’ve always been obsessed with working and I love the feeling working super hard for something gave me
But is it worth losing yourself for?
Worth the anxiety, the sleepless nights, missing out on family occasions and birthdays
I guess that’s why I made the promise to myself that now I only work for myself … I have the freedom to be able to MAKE TIME FOR MYSELF and put MYSELF FIRST
“Im going to take an hour out and go for a long dog walk, I’m going to clock off at 5pm and have a bath and a chilled night, I’m going to spend my first Mother’s Day in years actually with my mum this year”
Putting myself first so far this year has meant
– I haven’t had a alcoholic drink yet this year 🍷
– I’ve made one of my biggest passions a business 🏠
– I’ve scaled my fitness business to be able to run with or without me involved 💪🏼
– I’m exercising more than I ever had and it’s literally just for fun ✨
– my relationships with everyone are so much more meaningful and I’m genuinely interested in them 🫶🏼
Putting myself first does not mean NOT doing everything I still want to do and not hustling and GIVING UP all my goals
It just means giving back to myself & filling my own cup before I go and fill everyone’s else’s
And when I fill there cup now I seem to do it with a little bit more sparkle and energy than I ever had before
