Emily Calandrelli Instagram – “You look like a scientist.” A simple phrase but something I made sure to tell EVERY child who said they dream of becoming a scientist when they’re older. The face of a child when I would ask them: “Has anyone ever told you you look like an astronaut/scientist/engineer? Well you do! I know these things!” is the memory I will hold most tightly from my book tour 🥹 🫶🏻so grateful to @adambearne and @npr for covering this. (And especially grateful to Adam’s wife and children who loved my show and were the real impetus for covering this story 😉) So many of the wonderful things that have happened in my life are because women put my name forward. May we all speak the names of women we’re moved by in important rooms. 🫶🏻
