I put this in my stories but thought it was so good it had to go grid. Genuinely this is one of the best bits of life advice there is.
Saw this ornament in a Christmas store, and I’m desperate to know: WHO IS THIS SUPPOSED TO BE?
Sometimes you lose it a little and end up doing a 90s photo shoot in a tent dress you find at your parents house.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is out today!
See the movie that got Kumail to bleach his hair!
Ghostbusters is one of many pieces of pop culture that Kumail and I were able to bond over when we met. It formed both of us, separately, and it’s a dream to see him in it.

California, it’s voting day!
There are a ton of important races and measures on the ballot, so get out there. I know it’s exhausting. Do it anyway.

You can’t handle the glamour. #tbt
Today is #rarediseaseday, so I thought I’d celebrate with this video of myself wearing a Steve Winwood shirt and dancing to what I thought was Steve Winwood in an airport bathroom, and then realizing it’s Bruce Hornsby.
I don’t love defining myself by my condition, but it does define a lot of my life. Having a rare disease can be a frustrating combination of advocating for yourself; understanding that sometimes there aren’t answers; pushing yourself to see how much your body can handle; working hard to not feel sorry for yourself if your body reminds you what you can’t handle; and taking your Ws where you can. I have a great treatment that keeps me relatively healthy most of the time, and I am grateful for that.
So on this #rarediseaseday, I’m grateful for the field of medicine. God knows it’s not always perfect. I’m grateful for the good parts and also want more for all of us. More listening to us. More acknowledging when they don’t know the answer. And more focus on underserved populations.
Google #rarediseaseday to find out more about it.
And if you want to go a step further, DONATE PLASMA so that someone like myself can stay healthy.
My apologies to Bruce Hornsby.

Lately.
1) a pilgrimage
2) a gross sign I saw at a gym
3) what happens when people try to take pics of food at restaurants
4) texting friends for tights no tights opinions
5) Bagel by firelight
6) the only choices a woman has in life

Happy Easter from the little weirdo who simply had to show you whatever lumpy stuffed animal is in this photo.
ENHANCE.

I loved the first season of Extraordinary and am very happy season 2 just arrived on Hulu.
It’s a British show and the premise is: everyone gets one superpower, except this one woman.
It’s a clever, low stakes, genius way to do superpowers and it has so many laugh out loud jokes. Go watch it.
Stuff I’ve loved lately:
1) @diarrafromdetroitofficial. Holy shit this show is amazing. It’s a modern funny noir set in Detroit and creator/writer/star @diarraoni is so charming and great in it. It’s on BET Plus which you can get through Amazon prime.
2) Oh Jerome, No- a short form series (dunno what that means, actually, but the episodes are all 12 minutes) that’s on Hulu and explores modern masculinity. Really funny and surreal.
3) Tender by Beth Hetland (h/t to @evafay). A grotesque and deeply relatable body horror graphic novel.
