I’d love to put this judgmental Karen mom on blast & share her username, but i’m not that kinda person. And I know not all moms are like this, but I did feel a strong need to atleast share the message, bc there are more people out there that do these kinds of things, & make women feel horrible & kick them down when they’re already down & it’s not ok. God forbid we show the not so perfect, “highlight” parts of the journey, & actually keep it real, & be honest about struggling w/the adjustments that come with being a mom. The judgy Karen moms are waiting on the sidelines like vultures ready to attack. Some choose to only share their “highlights” on social & that’s ok if it’s all that mom is comfortable doing. But I’m pretty positive some would love to share more, ask for advice, & open up more than they do, but don’t out of fear of how the judge mental moms will make them feel. I mentioned these judgy moms contributing to PPD bc we already put so much pressure on ourselves as is. And when we’re doing our absolute best, giving our all, & we have a negative Nancy come & remind us of how we’re failing & how we should do better-it can lead to even more negative thoughts & feelings that can lead to PPD. We should be lifting each other up! Sharing advice when we see a mom struggling w/something we’ve likely been through, & if anything-try to be understanding when she’s open about her journey & experience for what being a mom has been for her. It’s different for us all. And just because it’s different, it doesn’t make one way better or right-it’s simply different-& that’s ok. Anyway, shout out to all you moms out there who are doing your best everyday. You are amazing! And if you have a judgy mom in your life, make sure you remind yourself that her negativity towards you comes down more so to her feelings about herself rather than you. Behind every success story, there is a story of a long hard journey it took to get there. Most of the time, the most successful people, have some of the hardest stories & obstacles they had to overcome to get there. The journey was a crazy roller coaster. While others see the “final” output-there are SO many other outputs that came before that one, & they simply kept going & trying till they found the next one & then the next. Success looks different for everyone. But one key factor that everyone wants in their success story is happiness. And we don’t find that happiness unless we are doing something we love, & enjoy, that feels purposeful for us. And we all have a different purpose that feeds us in different ways. The thought of failure is scary. BUT, the truth of the matter is, the ONLY true failure is giving up or simply not trying at all. Sure, we may go for our goals & sometimes things don’t work out how we expected. But if they don’t, along the journey of finding out that what we thought we wanted to work out didn’t-we end up finding out what does work out for us that we didn’t know we needed. But we will never get to that place if we don’t at least try. We’re coming up on a new year. Time is passing faster & faster. If you haven’t spread your wings yet, this is your sign.
