Thoughts on self-love.
Self-love is not passing everything you receive onto others. Self-love is keeping what you require for yourself. Generosity is giving from the overflow.
Self-neglect is giving what you have not already eaten of yourself. Be it an experience, an idea, a feeling, a thought, an insight, a knowledge, an understanding.
First eat and eat your fill, eat thoroughly before trying to pass it on to others. Otherwise your cup will soon run dry and you will become a specter, giving only in the desperate hope of receiving something in return because you are so empty, lost and bereft that your soul will die groveling for the very thing you just tossed on like it was nothing of value – not a treasure to behold, but a trinket to be traded.

Preparing to do some scene readings at the upcoming LOST concert on Oahu and 😭😭😭 so many memories. Those first few chords of @m_giacchino ‘s Life and Death theme get me every time. I just left Los Angeles. In my 20 years as an actress, I have so rarely been in LA. The odd time that I am (once every year or two) I am always struck by the intensity of the energy in that city…a frenetic buzz hangs in the air. It can be difficult to settle my heart, mind, body and soul. I can’t imagine how difficult it would be to stay grounded, and centered, and in flow if I lived there. And whenever I am in LA, I am also always struck by how beauty can be found everywhere.
I am a country girl. I love the forest and the mountains, trees and streams, brooks and bugs. But, even when in this city, as long as I can feel living things around me, my soul can find peace. 🌱
