Why do cats only want to sit on paper. I’m on THE FINAL edit of my debut fiction Scripted which I’ve decided to do on a print-out to get the true experience of reading it as if it’s a book, but am considerably hindered by baby Frank. Due to his general cuteness he will totally get away with this disturbance.
Hopefully my book will be out early June, if Frank ever finds a new resting spot. 😼

Fearne Cotton Instagram – There are many moments where I question how I’m parenting, or worry I’m getting it all wrong. There are moments of absolute chaos, times where I myself turn into a child, or when they are both on screens too much…but there are also nuggets like this where I can listen to my boy do what makes his heart sing. No one told him to play the piano; he found it, or maybe it found him. Makes my heart burst. ❤️

Im not good at reducing the pace. I rush, and cram too much into the day and often feel frazzled.
After three weeks of the easter holidays (and still living on a building site) this is the first moment I’ve had on my own. Being in solitude is deeply important to me as my job is very social. Got a packed day today of Sounds of the 90s, a @happyplaceofficial podcast and some meetings about our @happyplaceofficial festivals this summer, so setting the pace early doors will help.

Fearne Cotton Instagram – Last night I watched some old footage of Diana Ross who was wearing a sequin top and sequin shoes. I’ve subsequently been influenced to try and recreate such a look. I could never look as phenom as Diana but I’m enjoying the vibe.
I often use clothes as a pick me up. If I’m feeling drab I will pick out bright colours or dig out something I’ve not worn in ages. I have had this top for nearly twenty years. @sineadmckeefry picked it out when we were working together on Love Island which I hosted in my early twenties. I love to mix the old, the new, the second hand and the forgotten at the back of the wardrobe.
Fearne Cotton Instagram – Honey made Simon and Frank a house. There are currently some issues with this shared accommodation. A bit of rough and tumble ironed it out, with the bigger chap victorious in the end.
Fearne Cotton Instagram – Soul boosting day at the seaside. Forgot my cozzie (thank god) so just put my feet into the freezing water. Highlight of the day being my babe @heidigreensmith break dancing on the beach.
A lot of laughter, freezing feet, happy half term kids, and strangely a deer swimming in the sea. None of us were quite sure how or why but we were relieved when he made it to shore.
To all parents and carers out there doing half term and juggling it all (Heidi has FIVE kids) we’ve got this. ❤️

The joy comes from the doing it. It always get complicated when other people get involved. I’ve had times where I’ve stopped painting because of one critical comment, and have wanted to hide and not speak publicly because of outside views.
If we wait to feel the joy at the feedback stage, things get treacherous and confusing. If you’ve felt happiness, or flow, or sometmes even euphoria (I get this when I paint), no one can take that from you, even if they don’t like what you’ve created.
I have to remind myself of this daily with my writing, otherwise I would not open my laptop ever again.
Keep creating. Dont be knocked off course by others. Feel the joy.
Fearne Cotton Instagram – The Playboy mansion was supposed to be a place of freedom, expression and empowerment for Crystal Hefner, but it turned out to be the total opposite. As one of the girlfriends – and then wife – of Hugh Hefner, she had to be seen and not heard.
In this chat with Fearne, Crystal explains how living in the Playboy mansion saw her pitted against other women and picked apart for her appearance. Recognising the financial abuse in particular, she began saving her own money, which eventually created a foundation from which to rebuild her life, and self-worth, when Hef died.
Fearne and Crystal also chat about how to start discovering what you like, and what makes you happy, after previously living for other people. Plus, how to move away from feeling your self worth hinges on your appearance.
