A moment of chill after yesterdays workout.
It was hard, but my core is slowly starting to repair and my fitness is returning. I work better with the the tough love approach in my training and I know that If I want to feel and see changes, I have to make them! No one else will do it for me.
If you’re lucky enough to have a gym or workout space at home it makes getting in the gym easier. Same way If you live walking distance to the kids school it makes getting there easier. It doesn’t make the chaos or getting them ready any easier, the same way having the gym doesn’t make the actual work out easier. You still have to do the work. You still have to put in the effort to actually do the workout. Before I switched to working in radio I set my alarm for 4am daily to train before being on set on soaps from 8am to 8pm. It was my only chance to get in those endorphins! I could drive to the local 24hr gym then as I had no kids. The freedom 😂 When I worked on casualty I lived in a hotel in Cardiff with a shocking gym so I used to take my portable dvd down & do the insanity workouts in my room before my call time in makeup. Everything now is more challenging with two young children. When I’m back off maternity next year it’ll be even harder but I tell myself it’s not impossible. It’s just about time management & creating healthy habits (for me) Things that I’ve found help me are.
Hydrating first thing in the morning.
Not checking my phone on night feeds, that blue light does nothing good!
Making the time / prioritising time to exercise.
Sitting outdoes as much as possible. Even if it’s cold, just wrap up and soak up that natural light, Esp as winter is rolling in.
Stretch before bed. I do just 6 to 8 stretches holding them for a minute each so its nice and quick.
I know some will read this and think that’s not a lot at all, and some will read it and think how do you cram all that in. We’re all on different schedules so making a routine that works for you is key. That way you’re more likely to stick too it and reap the benefits 🙌🏼
Remember, making time to do anything that benefits your health and mood is always worth it.

First attempt back at wall balls and thrusters 🤮 Not where they need to be (I should be squatting lower, and I will In time) but it’s a good start point again which I’m happy with 😊
Finished off with some core work trying to focus on my breathing and trying to engage properly before the movements. I’m back in @bumptobeyond tomorrow for another scar check and a look at my ab separation. Remember postpartum is for life, and it’s never to late to get you pelvic floor or ab separation checked. I know we see more adverts for lady pads than we do for health checks so we’re led to believe it’s normal to wee ourselves after we have a baby 🤦🏼♀️ It’s not. And with the right information from a professional and the right rehab, you can make a huge difference.
