Did you know that our Queen illustrated The Danish version of The Lord of the Rings and that J.R.R. Tolkien apparently was very happy with the outcome. What a privilege it was to talk about the accomplishments of HMD at her 75th birthday. Meant every word👑🙏
Who runs the world? Definitely not women! Today I spoke at @cfr_org The Council of Foreign Relations about the lack of women in politics. Out of 193 countries, 26 are run by women, 6 out of 196 have at least 50 % women in Parliament and 13 countries have cabinets with 50/50 men and women. So far to go. And check out my t-shirt @moshimoshimind and think about supporting Dansk Kvindesamfunds Krisecentre @krisecentrene Women still live with so much violence in their own homes and a shocking number of women are killed by their partners or ex-partners. 2 every week in the UK and 140 every week in the US. And then they say we don’t need an international women’s day!! Lots of sisterly love to you all🩷🩷✊✊

We said it many times: Meta must be sensitive to how its rules and enforcement impact people who face discrimination, such as those in the LGBTQIA community. Today the Board overturned Meta’s decision to leave up a post that targeted transgender people with violent speech, advocating for them to commit suicide. While the Board found that the content violated Meta’s Hate Speech and Suicide and Self-Injury policies, the fundamental issue in this case was not with the policies, but with how Meta enforced its rules. In this case, Meta’s automated systems negatively impacted enforcement. Of 12 user reports, 10 were auto-closed, leaving only two for human review. We are concerned that Meta’s human reviewers did not pick up on contextual clues, despite indications of harmful elements. This case demonstrates how, despite having rules in place to address hate speech and the promotion of suicide, Meta failed to take appropriate action to remove the post, even with multiple signals of its harmful content. As a Board, we believe Meta must do better in upholding its stated values on LGBTQIA safety. Meta should invest in improving its systems to detect harmful content affecting LGBTQIA people and provide additional training for human reviewers on gender-identity-related issues.
