The end of an era. During my time in Chicago I worked with Vlad, the owner of @illcutyouhairstudio, located in the historic Flat Iron building in Wicker Park. Vlad provided hair cuts and styling for me and a space to hang my art. In exchange I collaborated with him on pulp fiction-inspired marketing and basic graphic design for some of his ads. The drawing I made for him was included on a wall adorned by portraits of him made by many Chicago artists. I never intended to model, but wound up occasionally appearing in print ads that weren’t necessarily the closest thing you’d associate with my brand as Princess Etch, heh. It was a cheeky delight when an acquaintance would message me bug-eyed and ask if that was me. The photo shoots were always great fun and it reminds me that I wish I spent more time collaborating while I lived in Chicago. Vlad closed up shop and is leaving Chicago to start the next chapter of his life. I feel bad that I won’t be able to say goodbye in person, so this post is the next best thing. Vlad, my hair never looked better under your care. I hope you get a kick out of these photos which I traditionally might not have shared on my Princess Etch accounts in the past!

Currently on my way home from NYC where I spoke at TikTok HQ! 🤸♀️ It was an amazing experience. I’m so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet dozens of talented streamers with @blushiftcreative and hopefully impart some useful nuggets of knowledge they can use for their streams too! #tiktoklive
