It’s been nearly 2 years since the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan, after 2 decades of democratic rule.
It’s been a devastating time for Afghan women and girls who now live under one of the most restrictive regimes in the world. They are unable to access secondary education or university, travel without a male relative or work for aid organisations.
I recently chaired an event at the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership at King’s College in London, discussing the desperate need to keep the spotlight on this worsening crisis.
