Our Yawanawa relatives are currently experiencing the largest flood since 2014 of their ancestral Gregório River which has overflowed and flooded the Yawanawa villages on its banks. The river has not yet receded and already many boats have been lost, and many homes and crops damaged. This is one of many examples of the ongoing climate crisis in frontline Indigenous communities and it is crucial that we show up in solidarity with our family in this critical time. Our relatives have poured so much into others, sharing their medicine, ceremonies and lifeways to support the healing and transformation of so many globally and this is a time that they must be poured into and supported.
