Why so many books for a designer people have asked? I love to share, chronicle, and synthesize concepts & events, and writing books helps me do just that. I often do my best thinking and internal changing at the beach where life is different and it sets me free… That got me wondering about what exactly happens to us by the ocean so I took a deep dive into the culture of beach towns, the interiors (of course!) the food, and even the science behind why people are healthier by the ocean and what the air, water, sand etc does for us. From the emotional, physical, physiological, and spiritual, this book is all about how the beach benefits us and sends us out as better versions of ourselves if we listen and let it. I promise you, if you’ve liked my other books, this one will probably be your favorite. Filled with gorgeous new images of houses I’ve designed and life at the beach. What a refuge this house has been for us. 🤍 little did we know that we’d have it for 3 years (we thought it was a much more temporary stop but the renovation on our place the meadow is taking way longer than expected.) It’s been a fast three years though and throughout it we’ve been so grateful to get to live in such an easy, relaxed, simple home. It’s been such a low-maintenance organized type of place. 🤍 check out the befores of the great room/ old conversation pit turned dining room. {1st pic by @helennorman } i’ll be posting about it all week and it goes on the market this Thursday! 🤎 buyers can reach out to @propertycollective

Had some quiet time here this week before the crazy that is readying our house to go up for sale this THURSDAY!!!! Not a single closet or under bed is safe this week~ and this is hopefully the last time we have to do this for a good long time!!! Will try to video some of what we’re doing in case anyone is interested because with so many moves/ house sales we’ve become a bit expertish at it! Wish me luck!!! 🙏

One of my favorite spaces we’ve ever done ~ the foyer in our #wisconsinfarmhouse project 🤍 vintage antiques a “metamorphosis” foyer console that can transform into a full dining table when needed for carryover dining (it’s the opposite of a drop leaf and is from my collection with @woodbridgefurniture ) 🤍🌿 photo by @helennorman | designed by us @laurenliessandco {we get asked all the time if we are taking in new projects and travel and the answer is yes and yes! We’re always looking to work with clients who share our love for nature, real humble materials, and down to earth, soulful living and need their homes designed 🤍 Over half of our projects are out of state 🤍)
Our future kitchen: Can you see it? {range on the left w/ island in front. Prep sink on left side of window w/ long counter the rest of the way} LIFE UPDATE: We’re putting our current house on the market and moving into this construction zone -which hopefully will be much more progressed!!- in a couple short months. We’ve done it before and I’d hoped to never have to do it again because it’s messy, disorganized, dusty, and chaotic for the whole family BUT we don’t want to miss the spring real estate market so we’re just taking this ride. 3 years after closing on the Meadow, we’re coming home!!!
