Basically I’m saying THANK YOU!#ledisi #thegoodlifetour #goodlife When I was a teenager growing up in Oakland this building was condemned boarded up. Like most vintage things, most of us either throw it away or forget about the importance of having classic pieces in our modern landscape. New and young means better in this industry 🤷🏾‍♀️Years later @foxoakland would arrive renewed into the future still holding on to most of its original form. And even though my picture isn’t on their wall yet 😂, I return to this space and others like it in our country selling out shows, adding my legacy within its structure. This was the perfect place to end #thegoodlifetour Just like this building, I’m holding on to everything I love that makes music classic. I am doing my part to sustain classic feel good traditional/contemporary R&B music the way I envision it. It was Oakland/Bay Area that nurtured my artistry/my beginnings while I blended funk/ jazz from my birthplace of New Orleans, learned from my favorites (Oakland’s own) Daryl Coley/Hawkins Family infusing my love of faith and my first love opera. I use all my classical training to soar and skillfully tell a story. 20 songs a night! My band and crew right there with me. Thank You for being my anchor! The People! Thank You for showing up !🙏🏾 I met so many people heard stories of how my music enriched their lives.
