While in St. Louis, I stopped by @Target to run a few errands and check out the paperback of my book, The Light We Carry. I left behind a few signed copies — if you find them, let me know!
Happy birthday, @CraigMalRob! I’m so lucky to be able to call you my big brother. From pursuing your passions on the basketball court to being a great father to launching your own podcast, you’ve always put all your heart in everything you do. Congrats on the success of @WaysToWinPod – I’m so, so proud of you and hope you have the best birthday! ❤️
Sometimes we need a few words of encouragement to help us get through the week. So I figured I’d share a few from #TheLightWeCarry to uplift you on your journey. And I’d love to hear from you, too — what’s the best piece of advice you’ve received over the years?

Happy Women’s History Month! Here’s to all the strong women in our lives who lift us up and encourage us to be our best selves. 💕
@Michele__Norris is one of those friends I can always count on. With Michele, I never have to look or feel or act a certain way. I can just be myself. In a bonus episode of The Light Podcast, we talk about friendship, mentorship, relationships, and so much more. I hope you have as much fun listening to this episode as we did recording it.
Listen now on @Audible or wherever you get your podcasts. #TheLightPodcast

American Symphony shares @SuleikaJaouad’s powerful journey navigating life with leukemia with @JonBatiste by her side. It’s a story of resilience, strength, and abiding love.
Every three minutes, when another person in the U.S. is diagnosed with blood cancer — another story like hers begins. That’s where the @NMDP_org and @MemorialSloanKettering’s American Symphony: Become a Lifesaver Campaign comes in. It’s a program designed to help those in need of a transplant find a match and bridge the donor gap.
Visit JoinTheSymphony.org to learn how you can get involved and make a difference.
I’m so inspired by organizations in my hometown of Chicago that are not only clearing away the barriers that girls face, but also creating opportunities for them to reach their full potential.
That’s why we are thrilled to support @BlackGirlsDance through the @GirlsOpportunityAlliance. Their program encourages girls to pursue their passion for dance by providing access to dance lessons and opportunities to perform onstage — including at the @ObamaFoundation’s Democracy Forum in Chicago last year.
But the program is not just about dance. It’s about confidence. It’s about growth. It’s about passion.
We’re so proud that this year, funding from the Girls Opportunity Alliance will help support 200 girls to get training in dance styles like ballet, hip-hop, and jazz — all leading up to a spring performance celebrating trailblazers from history through dance.
I’m so moved by this work — and I hope you’ll support organizations like this at the link in my bio all year long. #BlackHistoryMonth
Happy #InternationalWomensDay!
Today, I’m celebrating five remarkable grassroots leaders from the @GirlsOpportunityAlliance — Jackie, Sanam, Tameka, Karla, and Myriam — who are working tirelessly to create a brighter future for girls around the world.
From villages in Nepal to my hometown of Chicago, these trailblazers are a shining example to us all. They’re providing life-changing scholarships to girls pursuing their education. They’re working to prevent child marriage in their communities. They’re teaching girls about the importance of their mental and physical health. And they’re mentoring girls along the way — showing them that they aren’t alone and that their rights and their dreams matter just as much as the rights and dreams of boys and men.
These changemakers are helping girls everywhere reimagine their futures — and I hope you’ll learn more about them and join us in supporting their efforts by clicking the link in my bio.

We talk about the power of connection, ways to stay hopeful, and more. I hope you’ll listen to our conversation on @Audible or wherever you get your podcasts. #TheLightPodcast
