Nazanin Boniadi Instagram – Rapper Toomaj Salehi has been sentenced to death by a Revolutionary Court in Iran. Toomaj was first arbitrarily arrested on 31 October 2022. According to an informed source, he has been subjected to torture and other ill-treatment, including being held in prolonged solitary confinement. His conviction relates to exercising his right to freedom of expression in his music and social media posts where he denounces the Islamic Republic and calls for freedom and human rights. Iranian authorities must quash Toomaj Salehi’s conviction and his death sentence and release him immediately.
