Rachel Riley Instagram – Today is designated the International Day of Zero Tolerance to FGM (Female Genital Mutilation) and I spent a night in the company of the wonderful @nimkoali @thefivefoundation @officialjanetmbugua @inuadada whose aim it is to get money into the hands of local women and orgs on the ground who can affect change for girls in communities who need it the most, particularly focusing on Africa. It’s estimated that 60,000 girls in UK and 200,000,000 globally could be victim to this form of violence and yet Nimco and Janet have proven that individuals can make a difference as campaigning and speaking about it has not only raised awareness, but actually brought about legislation against FGM to change social norms for the protection of vulnerable girls.
