How is it possible that Greta Gerwig isn’t nominated along with Justine Triet for BEST DIRECTOR??!!!!! Oh, it’s possible apparently, even in 2024. . Know how many times I’ve heard in my career “Sorry, but that minority / woman slot has been taken…” As if there’s only room for one! Greta has not only been nominated in my version of the Oscars, but she’s won! Biggest box office AND artistically unique and special?! Come on now. 🎬🎟️💥

Excited for you all to see @elsbethcbs tonite! The lovely @carriepreston @carrapatterson and @mariafromchinatown and I had so much fun shooting! We were amazed that it was Maria’s first episode of TV — she knocked it out of the park! It’s not easy to match action — to repeat the same action to match the same dialogue — and Maria showed technical skill beyond! Watching this steam reminded me of the awesome swirling bag in American Beauty. Sam Mendes let that bag sit there in the frame and mesmerize with its simple beauty. I could stare at this steam for hours. Except I got work to do! 🎬❤️
