Nerene Virgin. The first person onscreen who I absolutely idolized. I’d wait with such anticipation for every episode of Todays’s Special. She was pure magic. I got to meet her when I was 8. She did her character’s voice for me. I felt like I was getting an audience with the Pope. She left a big mark on this country and in my heart. I wish this country had provided her with the hundreds of leading roles she deserved. What a mega talent.

My amazing sister @gulkincathy arrived today doing an impression of herself. Always laughing, always showing up, always protesting. I made her laugh by saying “hold still – this is going into the montage for your memorial service. This photo is for when the music hits a crescendo.” Editor that she is- she obliged. How I love this brilliant, fearless, loving woman.

The amazing @hope_forthe_future makes our kids’ incredible birthday cakes every year. And @franksnaturebites drives them in from Courtice. So grateful. ❤️

Dropped by to see my old neighbour @rzabasbooks yesterday. 1. He wanted to know why I “constantly post all those fucking SAYINGS on Instagram. Like, so-and- so said blah blah blah. Who cares! Why do you keep doing that! WHY?” 2. His daughter has challenged him to see if he can get 1000 followers. He has a really gorgeous insta page. (This photo here and the next one is his reaction to me saying “Here. I’ll help get you followers. Serves you right!”) Let’s get him to 1000, people. He’s one of my favourite humans, despite everything.

Went to see the brilliant @dianeflacks incredible show Guilt: A Love Story the other night, thanks to the amazing @annmariemacdonaldauthor who coaxed me out of my house. DON’T MISS THIS INCREDIBLE SHOW. It beautifully articulated so much I haven’t heard said out loud. So much I didn’t know I needed to hear.
