Bethany Hamilton Instagram - This month marks 20 years since one of the most impactful moments of my life when a shark took my arm while on a surfing off the coast of Kauai, my birth place. Many people could look at the incident back in 2003 as a major setback for me, but God had so much in store for the future! 🤙🏼 It’s absolutely wild to think how my life started and where it is now and all the amazing yet challenging things in between. I didn’t wake up in the hospital thinking I was invincible and was gonna get back to surfing. After getting a hint of inspiration,  I had to dream it up, flip my mindset and be willing to do what I had not seen anyone else do.  This was a challenge to live in faith. And I am so glad I was willing to try and give it my best shot! 🙏🏼 Now I get to surf with my two eldest sons Tobias and Wesley and my hubby! I get to enjoy these sweet moments with my newborn daughter. There is so much to be grateful for, and these past 20 years have been filled with incredible moments and huge overcoming seasons. 💛 When you have your “Shark Attack” moments in life. I hope you’re willing to try, and give life your best shot! You too CAN OVERCOME!

When we face challenge, it can be hard to have hope beyond our chaos, but it is essential. I hope that my life can be a ✨hint of hope✨for you in the challenges that you face. Bethany Hamilton Instagram - I think I ball cried for about a day after this event ended for me. But the crying was a deep crying that represented so much more than a surf contest. It represented all the trying and the things that didn’t go well in life. It represented pain that I face along side of all of the good and the beautiful blessings in my life. While this event didn’t go how I envisioned it and there was some incredible waves to be had. It was monumental for female surfing! The ladies rocked it!!! I’m proud of myself and all of the amazing women who tried and didn’t let their fears hold them back. I can imagine my life to be a life of simplicity if I let my fears lead me. But I choose to try. I choose to face my fears. I trust that Gods plan is better than mine. Today I’m a mother of 4 and those fears continually try to rob me of my boldest best version of me. But I continue to keep trying and showing up. And I will continue to trust that Gods plan is better than mine. You can face your fears too.

Bethany Hamilton Instagram - The joy this sweet girl has brought to my life! 🤗🥰 It has been so sweet to see the love that her brothers have for her! I’m so grateful for this! ☺️ While life has its sweet times, we often find ourselves thinking of multiple things in our lives that are not going good and the things we wish were better. I get it 😱 I’m right there with you! So what can we do? - Be grateful. Intentionally think on what you are grateful for and share it out loud if it’s a person we are thankful for! - Joy. Spend time, even if it is just 15 minutes a day, doing something that brings you joy. - Pray. Bring all things to God in prayer. Take comfort in His promises, that His will is being done. These 3 things are what I try to focus on every day…I know it can be a lot to juggle, but we need to be intentional in times of stress and challenge. 🙌🏼 As I often say… YOU CAN overcome!!! 💪🏽🔥🫡

Since then, God brought me on a journey of learning to push through some of the hardest challenges and accomplish some crazy fun things! He used this wild and devastating experience to give me a neat platform to share my story and be a reminder that we all can overcome. I really cherish being an encouragement to so many people, but especially for teenage girls in particular because I remember how hard it was for me - and that was before technology and social media has blown up in the way that it has! When times became rough, and especially when I lost my arm, I was able to lean on my mom who encouraged me to trust in the Lord. It is this incredible relationship with my mom and my hope to equip the younger generation with skills to make positive life choices that inspired my @ohanaexperiences Mother Daughter 90-day mentorship program. I believe that one of God’s greatest gifts to us is our mom as a mentor in our lives. My hope is that when the daughters are going through something hard, they can openly trust their mom and confide in them. The ’Ohana Program is an opportunity to be personally mentored by me and to learn from incredible experts on essential topics geared towards strengthening girls, moms, and the mother-daughter bond. You also make sweet friendships with other moms and girls, grow in your faith, spend 4 days with me in Hawaii, and have a TON of fun! I would love to join more mothers and daughters out there in strengthening their relationship and life overall. There’s just a few spots left in my January to Spring program and this is the ONLY ‘Ohana program my team will be doing in 2023. Bethany Hamilton Instagram - Changing your mindset is free. Doesn’t mean it’s an easy or fast fix. It’s up to you to be honest with yourself and start working on it. It’s wild to me that some people still think surfing with one arm is not possible. I am a living example and there are soooo many other amazing adaptive athletes and people out there doing incredible things that people perceive as impossible. What is it about some who are willing to adapt and make the most of what they’ve got? MINDSET. It may take time to switch it up and we may have to be forever workin at it. But I promise you, that you won’t regret continually flipping your mind to be more grateful, more optimistic, more of what and how can can I do this life to the best of my abilities… More of - I don’t need easy I just need possible. 🧠✨💪🏽 Hope this pushes you today and onward to adapt in your life. Bethany Hamilton Instagram - We’ve got SIX of us on board!!! 🤰🏼🥳🏄🏼‍♀️🤗☀️ Adam and I, and our whole fam, are so excited to be growing our family! I believe that life is a gift, and each and every life has value. As Psalm 139:13-16 says it: “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance...” Every single human life is fearfully and wonderfully made, and I believe should be viewed that way! How beautiful to know you were intentionally made by God. It can bring so much meaning to your life: that you are loved. That you are wonderful. That you have purpose. That you are no accident. 💯 8 years in to motherhood, I’ve realized that I value my children more than I value “my” time. I value my family more than I value other things like certain types of wealth or success. I believe a joy-filled family is wealth, and to know God, that is the most beautiful and precious wealth of all. We can pursue so many things in life, but what if we pursued what is right in front of us: the beautiful blessing that is family?! To those of you that know this blessing, I hope you are reminded and encouraged to fully embrace your gifts too. Adam and I are overjoyed and looking forward to welcoming our little bundle of joy this summer!

Here I am with 4 beautiful children and a wonderful husband. I feel like I could not ask for more!!! The last few years I’ve spent a lot of time mentoring teenage girls in a wonderful mentorship program… I loved my time with the girls SO MUCH!!! And now I’m shifting things! Bethany Hamilton Instagram - Feels like the countdown has begun!!! About two months to go before baby comes! Trying to move when I can cause I feel so good during and after. Plus I want to be surfing strong with my children over the long haul! After baby comes I usually reallllly take it easy for the long term health of my body and so I can just enjoy and focus on baby. New born life has never felt easy for me, nursing is a lot and I will just say my newborns haven’t been “the easy going ones”, so it requires full focus and rest. I’m not complaining just sharing my journey! I will say as an athleticly driven human it’s hard to slow down and let my body rest. But I know it’s good for me… and I choose to do it! Here is some advice from me- Wherever we are in life - Movement fuels more movement - so take time to move and do something you enjoy! It’s good for you! And rest when you need it! But we are overjoyed to share life with Alaya and our boys! ☺️ Each child holds their own element of uncertainty as we learn who they are and how to parent them, but each is also a precious gift from God! Joy and thankfulness to God carries me through the typical hard times and exhaustion that come with being a parent. Yes, being a parent can be a wild ride sometimes, but don’t let these seasons prevent you from enjoying one of the greatest responsibilities that God has given you – to love your children and to raise them in their faith. “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.” 3 John 4:4 What helps you raise your children every day with joy? Bethany Hamilton Instagram - Celebrating 10 years today😭🥰🤗 What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate. Feeling deeply grateful for this milestone in our marriage. I love sharing life with my husband Adam and I’m so grateful for where we are today. It is such a blessing to be his wife. A little about what I’ve learned on this journey so far. Sharing life with my best friend is amazing. We need the grace of God to carry us through. And we need to live out that grace towards one another. Marriage is not for the faint in heart. Commitment is something that seems to be misunderstood today. There will be challenges but they are so worth working through. When you say for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until we are parted by death. This is real. Looking forward to continuing this love and doing life together and raising our beautiful children together! ♥️♥️♥️

When I lost my arm, it would have been easy to just stop trying all the things that I couldn’t do the same way I used to. Even to this day I have to get uncomfortable often as I figure out how to do life differently. But not trying would have kept me out of my life. Instead of giving up, I adapt. Bethany Hamilton Instagram - I thought it would be fun to share a glimpse of my love story with my husband today being that this is our first decade together. 🤙🏼💛 We've been through so much together and God surely is our rock! So how did a Kansas boy and a Kauai girl end up together? Adam was on island to help start a youth ministry called Young Life and also substitute teach. Some friends gave him my number and encouraged him to call. He took a risk and left a voicemail and I took a risk and agreed to meet him (after seeing a cute picture of him and some kids playing at the beach). Our first date included jumping off a cliff and trying to chat while swimming around – Adam doggy paddling and me mermaiding (ha!). This is what Adam claims to remember the experience like.. "I was trying to be cool in the ocean, and I’m like, “Yeah, I’m all right out here. I’m cool.” She’s trying to have a casual conversation in the water and I’m swimming for my life." 😅😂 The true answer on how we met is that God was incredibly creative and gracious in helping us find each other.. Our foundation of our faith, friendship, compatibility and our shared core values made it clear we were meant to join together in the ultimate adventure of marriage. And now we have 4 littles to show for it! Through all the seasons of marriage, the grace of God is truly our strength and hope. I hope you can lean on God to be your rock in your marriage too. My children are always invited to join me when I move! I like the idea of integrating my children into the various parts of my life so that they can take some of the habits and tools with them along the way. Bethany Hamilton Instagram - One arm life… My life is adapting each day. Adaptation every day with everything that I face. I’m glad that I was and am brave enough to try; and try again. Easily surfing with one arm is the hardest thing I’ve learned to do so far. Some days are hard and some days my arm is tired. I do so much on the one side so I def need cross training on the other side as I’ve shared here often! But I wake up each day grateful for another day. 🙏🏽 And we all CAN do the same. When we see the darkness in the world we know down inside that we need a light. God is the God of light, who sets us free from darkness. Merry Christmas!!! A message from my hubby Adam and I 🤗 Joy Amidst Life’s Ups and Downs Aloha Friends and loved ones, I pray that this message finds you all enjoying the season of celebrating our Christ’s birth. What a source of joy this is, to know that God humbled himself to become one of us! So that we could have salvation and life eternal. These reminders of God’s love for us stirs up the passion within us to love him and love our neighbors as He calls us to do. We constantly need these reminders because we are constantly bombarded by the enemy in this world, with hardships, or even enticing distractions! Our family has faced a lot this year with a family member facing life threatening illness and the death of our nephew. We find ourselves asking similar questions as Job and the psalmists ask. Why do these things happen to good and God loving people? We know that God is sovereign and that these trials call for us to rely on God’s truth and promises all the more and as James 1:2-4 says, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your Fatih produces perseverance”. So even though we may not find “happiness” amidst our trials, which I’m sure you all have faced many of your own this year, but we can find joy in our Savior, joy that He loves us and has the gift of faith and Salvation for us to rely on and trust in. This is Good News. This Christmas, take joy in the Good News of our Savior Jesus Christ, whatever trials you may be going through. Let’s sing and rejoice together as all the saints in heaven join in praise of Him who Saves Us. Merry Christmas, Adam and Bethany

Bethany Hamilton - 1 Million Likes - This month marks 20 years since one of the most impactful moments of my life when a shark took my arm while on a surfing off the coast of Kauai, my birth place. Caption : This month marks 20 years since one of the most impactful moments of my life when a shark took my arm while on a surfing off the coast of Kauai, my birth place. Caption : Two weeks before I lost my arm, I remember praying with my mom for my life to have purpose. I wanted my life to honor God. Since then, God brought me on a journey of learning to push through some of the hardest challenges and accomplish some crazy fun things! He used this wild and devastating experience to give me a neat platform to share my story and be a reminder that we all can overcome. I really cherish being an encouragement to so many people, but especially for teenage girls in particular because I remember how hard it was for me – and that was before technology and social media has blown up in the way that it has! When times became rough, and especially when I lost my arm, I was able to lean on my mom who encouraged me to trust in the Lord. It is this incredible relationship with my mom and my hope to equip the younger generation with skills to make positive life choices that inspired my @ohanaexperiences Mother Daughter 90-day mentorship program. I believe that one of God’s greatest gifts to us is our mom as a mentor in our lives. My hope is that when the daughters are going through something hard, they can openly trust their mom and confide in them. The ’Ohana Program is an opportunity to be personally mentored by me and to learn from incredible experts on essential topics geared towards strengthening girls, moms, and the mother-daughter bond. You also make sweet friendships with other moms and girls, grow in your faith, spend 4 days with me in Hawaii, and have a TON of fun! My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. So how did a Kansas boy and a Kauai girl end up together? Adam was on island to help start a youth ministry called Young Life and also substitute teach. Some friends gave him my number and encouraged him to call. He took a risk and left a voicemail and I took a risk and agreed to meet him (after seeing a cute picture of him and some kids playing at the beach). Our first date included jumping off a cliff and trying to chat while swimming around – Adam doggy paddling and me mermaiding (ha!). This is what Adam claims to remember the experience like.. "I was trying to be cool in the ocean, and I’m like, “Yeah, I’m all right out here. I’m cool.” She’s trying to have a casual conversation in the water and I’m swimming for my life." 😅😂 The true answer on how we met is that God was incredibly creative and gracious in helping us find each other.. Our foundation of our faith, friendship, compatibility and our shared core values made it clear we were meant to join together in the ultimate adventure of marriage. And now we have 4 littles to show for it! Through all the seasons of marriage, the grace of God is truly our strength and hope. I hope you can lean on God to be your rock in your marriage too. What a source of joy this is, to know that God humbled himself to become one of us! So that we could have salvation and life eternal. These reminders of God’s love for us stirs up the passion within us to love him and love our neighbors as He calls us to do. We constantly need these reminders because we are constantly bombarded by the enemy in this world, with hardships, or even enticing distractions! Our family has faced a lot this year with a family member facing life threatening illness and the death of our nephew. We find ourselves asking similar questions as Job and the psalmists ask. Why do these things happen to good and God loving people? We know that God is sovereign and that these trials call for us to rely on God’s truth and promises all the more and as James 1:2-4 says, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your Fatih produces perseverance”. So even though we may not find “happiness” amidst our trials, which I’m sure you all have faced many of your own this year, but we can find joy in our Savior, joy that He loves us and has the gift of faith and Salvation for us to rely on and trust in. This is Good News. This Christmas, take joy in the Good News of our Savior Jesus Christ, whatever trials you may be going through. Let’s sing and rejoice together as all the saints in heaven join in praise of Him who Saves Us. Merry Christmas, Adam and Bethany
