Tyler Perry Instagram - Every now and then I take my Geo Metro out for a spin. (When I was homeless it was a car just like this that was my shelter).
If looking back at how far you’ve come doesn’t make you thankful, I don’t know what will.
There’s no way to be ungrateful when you appreciate every blessing you have. And if you’re still in the struggle please fight on…. It’s so sweet on the other side of pain.

Tyler Perry Instagram - [SOUND ON]

After I’ve gotten several calls from people giving me their condolences and I didn’t know what they were talking about, I was sent this article that’s going around.

I don’t know how she could have died and nobody told me or her. So I called her and asked her was she dead and she said hell no!

Can whoever is responsible for this please stop you better be careful when you speak death over a child of God.

This woman is loved by millions and you’re hurting a lot of people.

Cassi is fine living her best life with no worries, no cares, no social media, and no drama. She’s waiting to shoot the next season of House of Payne.
Tyler Perry Instagram - This year I celebrate 30 years in show business.

Remember… wherever you start doesn’t have to be where you end…. Never despise small beginnings.

It takes a while to build a dream.

Tyler Perry Instagram - I said I wouldn’t watch that video

Tyre Nichols

I said for my own peace of mind, for the sake of my own sanity, for my hope for what’s left of the human race, I would not watch the awful murder of another black man. This time I would refuse. I wanted to have the luxury of many people in the world who can just turn it off with ease. Many people can’t imagine it happening to them because honestly, it never will. I was determined to see what that space felt like for once, I would cover my ears and not let in the outside. I knew it wasn’t possible because when some people hate the outside it doesn’t matter what’s on the inside even if what’s in there looks like them.

So today I will cry, I will be depressed, I will curse, I will be outraged, I will want to burn some shit up, I will be in agony, I will let my heart break for his family, I will moan with his tenor harmony from my own experience that is every black man that’s ever called for the safety of the arms of mamma, I will inaudibly scream.

But somewhere in the wrestling between the moon and the sun for the right to deliver light as if one is good and the other is evil, in that hour, I will get quiet, then I will be still, I will weep, and then I will pray.. and with the morning light, no matter who tried to dim it… I will get up and I will fight on!

Tyler Perry Instagram - This photo was taken at my house. I bought these chairs from an auction because they belonged to Abraham Lincoln. We both sat in them and had a conversation. I wondered when he freed the slaves could he have imagined that one day this man would become president of the United States. Only in our America and with all of her flaws.. what a great country we live in and we must fight to keep our democracy.
Happy Birthday to you President @barackobama

Tyler Perry Instagram - They said I wouldn’t make it, they said I was a flash in the pan! But what they didn’t know is GOD GAVE ME YOU! Your support has meant everything. Thank you so much for holding me up. 18 years ago today my first movie Diary of a Mad Black Woman opened at number one, and we’re still groaning and going.

If God be for you, who can stand against you!

Tyler Perry Instagram - Today this incredibly beautiful woman turns 100 years old. Ms. Lena Derriecott King.

I tell you she is as sharp as a laser and is still so full of life. She is one of less than a handful of surviving members of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion.

She was one of 855 black and brown women that served our country in World War II and returned home to be ignored and ostracized. After 70 plus years later they were finally awarded the Congressional Gold Medal for the work they did.

What did they do you ask? Imagine a world where there is no communication, no email, no Facebook, no telephones on the battlefields. Now, imagine being a solider fighting for your country for years and never hearing a word from home, or your loved ones not knowing if you were dead or alive.

After several years many intended, mailed letters and care packages sat molding and vermin-infested in leaky airplane hangers in Europe. That is until these women were sent over to Europe to get it sorted. Several other companies had tried but couldn’t so the army just assumed that they would fail.

But you never underestimate the ability of a black woman nor their intelligence or ingenuity.

These women sorted and delivered over 17 million pieces of mail in 90 days, thereby brining hope and communication to every fighting solider and their families.

I had the honor of sitting with Ms. King back in April and after one meeting, her recollection, class and dignity sent me on a path to write the script and tell the stories of these brave, powerful, and remarkable woman. We are currently filming this movie, called The Six triple eight.

So Ms. King, on behalf of every person in this country who have the freedoms we do now because of what you all endured in battle and at home I just want to say thank you to you and all the members of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion.

Happy 100th birthday and thank you for your service. And I’m so thankful that God has satisfied you with long life.

Here’s to 100 more.

Tyler Perry Instagram - I am so heartbroken to hear about the passing of this warrior. Ms. Josephine Wright, even though we spoke by phone, I was so looking forward to meeting you in person next month to hand you the keys to your new house, but God had other plans.
My prayer is that you rest in peace knowing that I will honor the commitment that I made to you.
I know you will be watching over us all as I hand those same keys to your family.

So your 4 children, 40 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren will still be able to gather at YOUR house on YOUR land and tell the world what kind of fighter that you were. You have run your race and fought an incredible fight! Journey well my dear lady. You have inspired me.

Tyler Perry Instagram - Got a chance this weekend to see the premiere of Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé!

I’m so proud of her. She keeps going above and beyond. Showing up in full grace, full voice and adding higher layers to her own cake.

This film is so much…
It’s fun, it’s exciting, it’s heartfelt, it’s a dedication, it’s an education, it’s a business woman, it’s a blueprint, it’s art, it’s a vocalist, it’s a dancer, it’s an entertainer, it’s a superstar, it’s a mother, sister, daughter, cousin, wife, it’s brilliant.

It’s BEYONCÉ!

Congrats to you and all of Parkwood, but most of all congrats to all of us who get to see it! God bless you my friend.

Tyler Perry Instagram - A few days ago I got an extremely heartbreaking phone call from my friend, Yvette Noel-Schure. Through her tears and grief she was telling me that in her home country of Grenada, a young man that was like a son to her was murdered. My soul ached as she shared that he was a young, gifted singer who was murdered because he was gay. My mind immediately went to Mathew Shepard, and all the other victims of racist, homophobic, antisemitic, xenophobic, senseless violence. This kid was 23, how is this ok? His mother is devastated. This pain is too common - the same pain of Marcia Williams, who I’ve been trying to help to find out what happened to her son Terrance in Collier County, Florida for years now. The pain of not knowing can be crippling. It’s the pain that my sister and I carry not knowing what truly happened to my 25-year-old nephew, who we were told hung himself in prison just 3 years ago. The pain of not knowing is truly gut-wrenching. So with that said, Yvette and I are offering a $100,000 dollar reward to anyone who brings forth information that leads to the conviction of the murderer of Josiah “Jonty” Robinson. Please pray for his mother and Yvette and all of those that loved him, as well as every family who has been impacted by senseless violence.

I wrote this to a friend of mine who had lost someone they loved very much. Today I want to make it public in hopes that it may help someone who may be grieving. I’ve been there and I know it well. Recently so many people that I know have died or are dying and what I learned is the below

Hey …..

I just want you to know that you may hear a lot of cliches from people, things like "you loved them but God loved them best" or “they are with the Lord now" and people really do mean well when they say these things, however the truth of the matter is, nothing can comfort you, one moment you will be fine and the next you'll be breaking down.

Having lost my mother whom I was very close to, the best advice I can give you is to let grief come when it comes. It can't be scheduled.

You can't "work" through it, it will just wait for you to finish the job. You can't sleep through it, it will be waiting for you by the bedside when you awake in the morning. Believe me I tried...

Unfortunately grief is a living thing that visits at will.

The only thing I can offer you is a prayer, and my prayer for you is that it comes in waves. Gentle ones that give you enough grace In between them so that you can function.

And lastly I'll say this to you my dear friend, be around people you trust because I promise you it's hard to trust yourself when grief is wrapped around you like a old familiar robe.

Sending you love and true prayers.

Tyler Perry Instagram - So… I knew that the success of my studio would affect all the property values around it. But make no mistake the seniors on fixed incomes around the studio will not lose their homes because of past due or rising taxes… no sir!!

We ain’t doing that to our legacy.

Thank you Mayor Dickens and Invest Atlanta for caring about our folks.

God bless

Tyler Perry Instagram - This first photo is of my mother with these adorable children she worked with at a Jewish community center.  I remember her coming home from work one day devastated because there was a bomb threat and my mother was horrified that there were people who wanted to blow up a building full of children because they were Jewish. I blurred their faces but think about that. It brought her back to that pain of having to live through the bombing of a church in Alabama where three little black girls died.

My mother made sure that I knew the commonality of what black people and Jewish people have endured - she not only taught me about slavery but she also taught me about the Holocaust. But in teaching me about all our common pains she also taught me about the allies that Jewish people have been for black people. Case in point, look at the founding members of the NAACP - it took allies to get us to a better place in this country and those allies didn’t look like us.  It was Jewish allies that were murdered in Mississippi trying to help us get the right to vote.  I can fill this post with so many examples including my own allies that I work with today who have helped me grow a business that has allowed me to hire more black people than most businesses in Hollywood.  No one makes it alone.

If looking back at how far you’ve come doesn’t make you thankful, I don’t know what will.
There’s no way to be ungrateful when you appreciate every blessing you have. And if you’re still in the struggle please fight on…. It’s so sweet on the other side of pain.

Tyler Perry - 266.5K Likes - I said I wouldn’t watch that video

I wondered when he freed the slaves could he have imagined that one day this man would become president of the United States. Only in our America and with all of her flaws.. what a great country we live in and we must fight to keep our democracy.
Happy Birthday to you President @barackobama

Thank you so much for holding me up. 18 years ago today my first movie Diary of a Mad Black Woman opened at number one, and we’re still groaning and going.

Tyler Perry - 195.5K Likes - Today this incredibly beautiful woman turns 100 years old.

Caption : Today this incredibly beautiful woman turns 100 years old. Tyler Perry - 188.1K Likes - I am so heartbroken to hear about the passing of this warrior.

Tyler Perry - 159.7K Likes - A few days ago I got an extremely heartbreaking phone call from my friend, Yvette Noel-Schure.

Caption : A few days ago I got an extremely heartbreaking phone call from my friend, Yvette Noel-Schure. This pain is too common – the same pain of Marcia Williams, who I’ve been trying to help to find out what happened to her son Terrance in Collier County, Florida for years now.

Tyler.

We ain’t doing that to our legacy.

Thank you Mayor Dickens and Invest Atlanta for caring about our folks.

Tyler Perry - 143.7K Likes - This first photo is of my mother with these adorable children she worked with at a Jewish community center.

Tyler Perry - 139K Likes - On this Juneteenth I threw a party for all the incredible people that work at Tyler Perry Studios. I wanted to celebrate the accomplishment that these amazing people have all achieved. My payroll alone was 154 million dollars, and that money went to all the people in this crowd.
