Shot this lil’ segment in beautiful Aṉangu Country after a rare evening of rain. It meant we could see the true black shade of the monolith under its red rust foundation, and how freshwater gathers at the base of the structure – which is taller than the Eiffel Tower, more ancient than the first dinosaurs and runs another 2.5km underneath.
Thanks to Uncle Sammy Wilson – son of Paddy Uluṟu! – for welcoming and handpicking bush tomatoes for us (an unexpectedly perfect mix of tomato and banana), and this dream team crew of the two Dans, Pariss, Bruno, Sarah and Toby.
And, of course, icon Julia Zemiro who can do no wrong and for whom I would walk directly into peak hour traffic with my eyes closed if she asked.
