Chris Burkard Instagram – My 2nd Austurland Freeride Festival on the books… the weather didn’t make it easy on us this time but we had an epic crew of amazing people and @runarpetur & @mjoeyri made great hosts each day – picking out interesting lines we could explore despite tricky conditions & even shuttling us in trucks to the base of the snow line… no matter the weather it’s still hard to beat a day of ski touring around Iceland’s eastern mountains with good friends just to cap it off with a boat hot tub, unobstructed views of Eskifjörður, and the best reindeer meatballs you can get.
