But the universe is always one step beyond logic.” Frank Herbert – Dune I truly respect and find necessary the scientific approach of trying to define and understand different aspects of life… like what causes a delicate and harsh ecosystem like Death Valley to stay in balance or a coral reef to thrive. But I also find that sometimes that desire can be limiting and sometimes narrows my ability to allow the mystical aspect of nature to speak to me. Surprisingly enough, the less I try to listen/find out and more energy I put towards being in the present – I hear more of what the world is saying to me. The desert is one of those places that feels a little more thin between a mystical and the real… somewhere I’ll keep coming back to.
