17 years clean and sober. So many things I could say about it, but the simplest version is this: through all the ups & downs, I feel so much better daily than I did February 2nd 2007. Really glad I reached out for help, and eternally grateful that people were there when I did. #sobriety #recovery

This was such a powerful and transformative experience and I hope others can relate. Check it out on their app today!! I especially want to mention that I’ve recently become much more aware of how I’ve had the privilege of more freely expressing my anger in social settings, just by being a white cis-gender man. For many people just “being angry” isn’t so easy. We need to address our issues around anger as a culture, at this point I think that is glaringly obvious. The new @beingfrenshe scent #PaloSantoSage is out today, and I have to say – no bullshit – this one is so good. It’s a bit more natural and subtle so I really like it, feels super grounding. So proud of @ashleytisdale and her team for this awesome product. I also created some vibey music for all these videos for it so keep an eye / ear out for them and go pick up #PresentAndGrounded at @target asap 🪶
Ok, hear me out. I was always enchanted by the @fender Jaguar but never really knew why. The curves, the angle, the SWITCHES… it’s just sexy. My old bandmate Fernando had one of these black reflective ones and I was like woah 😳 it’s just so cool and sounds so good! The double humbucker pickups have a really full and rich tone, the short neck is nice and it does what it does so well. So when I saw this one on sale on my birthday in 2010 I knew it was meant to be. That said, I’ve never remembered what all these switches do 😂 The amount of times I’ve accidentally flipped one in the middle of a show and destroyed my sound irretrievably makes this one a non-performance item for me LOL. But I thoroughly enjoy recording with it, I get a lot of inspiration from the vibe, and that tone is just so unique and characteristic! Anyway, that’s why it’s one of #MyFavs any Jag fans?

Next in My Favorites: the incomparable @sequential_llc Prophet 6. This was the first synthesizer that truly spoke directly to me as an artist. From the first time I messed around with it at @perfect_circuit (and lost like hours which felt like minutes) I knew this one was my board. Hard to explain but it’s just so easy and natural and versatile! I’ve honestly had a harder time getting a *bad* sound out of it than good ones. This is the only keyboard I’ve ever been able to score an entire movie with, and not have it sound repetitive or boring 🖤 Dave Smith you were a true genius, and a personal hero. #MyFavoriteInstruments #composer #musician
