Eric Whitacre Instagram – Louisville! I am here this week to perform the Mozart Requiem, The Sacred Veil, and The River Cam with the @louisvilleorchestra and singers from the University of Louisville and Voces Novae. It has been a magical week — the musicians and staff are SO good, and such lovely people.
Conducting the Mozart Requiem is something I’ve dreamed of doing since I first sang it 35 (!) years ago with my mentor, David Weiller. This piece (and David) changed my life, and is the reason I am composer and conductor.
And to make it even more special, my wife @laurence_servaes is singing the soprano solos, and she is performing from my original choral score, the one that I used with David.
