90K!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Thank you for being here! Thank you for showing up and supporting this winding artistic journey. I have no idea where it’s headed and I’m down with that. I’m just in love with creating, it’s a lifelong affair, and I love that so many of you, creators yourselves in your own way, are reflecting that passion back to me from the trenches, from the thick of it. Here we are folks. Making the choice to be expansive, inclusive, to recognize ourselves in each other and risk our necks for what we know is real. To meet our calling. To serve this big beautiful thing called Love that connects us all. What other choice is there? I think art is where love and faith collide. Love enough to wring our hearts of our secret truths, and faith enough to believe there are those out there who will resonate. And when that happens both are seen, and in being seen begin to heal. We will not lose each other in the digital fog, as long as we keep revealing the beacon of our love. We are more a tribe than we can ever conceive. It’s an exciting time, my first record out in a week, a movie airing at Christmas and a couple more next year, with more exciting projects in the wings, film festivals, directing, poetry, more visual art. I’m grateful for it all, and I’m grateful for you. And it’s with that gratitude that I’ll keep going. I hope this inspires you to keep going too. Bucket list day. Having some chats during feeding time with some majestic elephants in rehabilitation at an ethical sanctuary in Phuket. Many were rescues from work sites or entertainment and still bear the scars from years of mistreatment at the hands of profiteers. The way these sweet and gentle animals were cared for made my heart swell. They are a symbol of the sweeping grace of Nature. Looking into her intelligent eyes, I felt a deep rumbling, a conviction, “humans must do better, we are in a contract with the rest of the natural world, whether we acknowledge it or not”.

🔅🔆🔅 I wrote a long passage about love. Then I got tired of hearing myself speak. We know what love is. We just have to do it. I just have to do it. Beyond our imaginary lines. We have to love just as universally as the love that found us on the day of our first breath. Without being owed it, or having earned it. We must be in the service of love, not the other way around. And we must extend into the discomfort and love there, especially there. The cracks in our faceless systems of scale have exposed a raw nerve, the living taproot of love. Seeking fresh water. May we breathe deep and accept the challenge. To wring our hearts out in the face of our fears, to each supply a drop. To create a wave. The flood that will fertilize our future. Two decades or so. A whole crowd of voices in my head telling me it was a bad idea for various reasons. As so often happens, our deepest passions are wrapped in fear to protect us. Some of those voices persist, but on a day like today I’m grateful to have made the decision to routinely ignore them and lean with all my weight into this project. I can feel my heart growing in my chest, the tremor of fresh legs standing on new and fertile ground. And I’m in love with the view. These songs aren’t my secrets to keep anymore, this record is for you. This is one more step on the road of discovery that I’m grateful to be on, and I recognize it’s an important one. I dream of Bright World as a container, which can continue to evolve and flourish in whatever direction feels true. And this evolution is collaborative. And so, to my collaborators: I must thank my producing team of @justinglasco @bryangcook and @hansdekline , my management team of @atrynda and @onerpm , and the many wonderful instrumentalists (@bthetrain @isaiahcello @hagiwara_ai @jontitterington Hideaki Aomori) and vocalists (@jadeakelly @colleendauncey @lucyclearwater )who appeared on the record. Deep gratitude to all who agreed to be my remote choir for I’m Not Alone in the middle of lockdown, there’s too many to name here, but each one of you is an inspiration to me. To my family and all my friends who’ve suffered my experimental phases and have been there with open arms when I was bruised. However the release of this record is major milestone and has been years in the making. I’m just so so thrilled to finally be releasing it. I love it. It’s my baby. It’s a journey, meant to be listened to in order. For that reason I’m doubly excited to be releasing a limited edition vinyl of the album through my friends at @qrates , for the full organic experience I’ve been envisioning from the start. It’s also taken a small army of people helping me bring it to life, for whom I’m deeply grateful and will be shouting out in the coming days. It’s been a joy creatively to experiment and expand through all the singles, the videos, and the the artwork for this labor of love. There is a new story begging to be told.🔥 Today, there is a real sense that more and more people are sticking their heads up from the crowd and asking ‘uhh..is anybody else seeing this?’. It doesn’t help that the human reaction to fearful circumstances is to dig in, to become resolutely risk averse, and look out for number one. The more scary things get, the more we tighten our collective grip. Even as corporations rush to greenwash their products, there is still this pervading ideology built on the idea that the world is limitless. The prevailing model is that progress must grow, while even schoolchildren can tell this has simply just never been the case. And yet the machine has become so massive and touches so many facets of life that it’s hard to even conceive of a different way of being. And even if we could conceive of it, how could we ever agree, and is there even time? I believe the answer is yes. And that we are here to raise that Yes collectively. I wrote The Future Begins Today in an attempt to articulate the many conflicting feelings that arise while hesitantly participating in the slow motion car crash that is late stage capitalism. Maybe you recognize your own feelings. If you do, please consider sharing this video with your community.
