I’ve always wondered what this day would feel like and now it’s here! Thank you for a wonderful ride. I will miss everyone so much and I want you to know that it’s been an honor to play this part, and it’s been a joy to work with people I love so much. I’m excited to see what’s next and I hope you’ll join me on the next chapter, whatever that is. ❤️ I truly hope you enjoy the finale. It was made with a lot of love.

Yesterday was magical! I didn’t know what the day after completing @youngsheldoncbs would be like, wasn’t sure how I’d feel etc. I ended up back on the lot to get a haircut, and then ran into my buddy @therealderekjason who works with @wbtourhollywood – somehow I ended up giving a my very first tour of Warner Brothers, with a real uniform and everything! WB has this great studio tour that I first took when I was 7 years old, and I recommend it to everyone I know. When I’m working on the lot, I always enjoy saying hello to my favorite guides and their carts full of people who are eager to learn more about this magical lot. When I got back to base, the guides gathered and surprised me with incredible, personalized gifts and this card which meant the world to me. Thank you, colleagues, thank you, friends. You took a day I was uncertain about and let me know that life will be full of all sorts of unexpected adventures!❤️ Please go and take the tour if you are in the area. There’s over 100 years of history here and some incredible tour guides who love the place as much as I do who can show you around. Tell them Iain sent you!
“I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.” It’s a pretty good mantra even when where I am is up a 100-story building, above the city- What a view!
First stop in NYC was to see Mother Play because I needed to see @therealjimparsons in this part that earned him a Tony nomination! He was excellent and so was everyone. Please take my advice and go see it! I realized I hadn’t dressed well for the chilly NY evening and stopped to get something warmer. There weren’t many choices in the immediate area and I didn’t have a lot of time before the show, but I managed to find this jacket. I realized immediately that I’ve definitely worn this as Sheldon and I’m pretty sure Jim has too. It looks like I stole this from the wardrobe department. (I didn’t!) To recap, this is the last week new episodes are airing and I go out and purchase clothes that Sheldon would wear AND go to see the OG Sheldon himself. I guess this might mean that on some level- or every level- I’m going to miss Sheldon and the unique way he views the world. I’ve learned a lot from him, he’s changed my life, and I love him. Even though we have completed filming, it feels pretty good to slip on his jacket every once in a while.

This is 8 yr old me getting ready to film the very first scene I did as Young Sheldon. @melissapeterman recently asked what I would go back and tell my younger self. Maybe I wouldn’t tell him anything and I would just let life unfold as it does, but I think he’d be so surprised and happy to see where we are now. I sure am. I don’t think this kid could have anticipated what it would feel like to film our final scene all these years later. Thank you, amazing crew, past and present, and those who have been there the whole time. I love you all so much!

I appreciate the location- it’s right by all the theatres- but I appreciate the kindness of the people who work there even more. What a day!! On a recent, perfectly clear and gorgeous Los Angeles morning I joined Mr Larry and Ms. Amelia from @beactivepilot for my very first flying lesson! I had a fascinating lesson on the ground and then we took flight! We flew over Warner Brothers studio (where we film Young Sheldon) and over to Santa Monica. Here I am with the Hollywood sign in the background. It was incredible to get a different perspective on these landmarks I know so well. Thank you to everyone there for giving me one of the very best days of my life! I can’t believe I flew a plane!!! I will be getting my drivers license soon- maybe I also need a pilots license??!
