Occupation Forces burned a 92 year old Grandmother to death who was suffering with Alzheimer’s.
Following a raid by the Israeli army on her home, Mrs. al-Sawada, who suffered from Alzheimer’s, was separated from her family and found deceased in her granddaughter’s burned bed, her remains reduced to charred bones. The soldiers, despite being implored by her family to release her, callously refused, leaving Mrs. al-Sawada behind as they assaulted al-Shifa Medical Complex and its vicinity in mid-March in western Gaza City.
For two weeks, the family did not know Sawada’s fate after they were forced to leave her behind. They later received reports from neighbours that the army had set the building ablaze. But they could not return to the building to see if the grandmother was taken out before it was engulfed in flames. On 1 April, the Israeli army withdrew from the area and the family finally reached the home and found Sawada’s charred remains.
We will tell her story, and we will not forget.

We cannot stress enough the paramount importance of emailing your elected officials when we witness these horrors.
We are not saying the system works; what we are saying is that we are in an echo chamber, and war crime after war crime, it just gets shared around. We all see it, and then we move onto the next one. We HAVE to email EVERYTHING to elected leaders in order to apply pressure. Please keep emailing and sharing email templates from any organisation providing them.
We are a team, and we need to work together to make a change. Not just on Saturdays at local demonstrations, but every day of the week ✊
Thank you to everyone collaborating on this post, if you don’t follow them already, please give them a follow and show your support 👏

in a shocking attack on free speech, USC administration has literally *cancelled graduation* 🫢
if you recall, the USC administration made the unprecedented decision to bar their muslim woman valedictorian from giving the traditional commencement speech for fear of her pro-palestine sentiments.
since then, USC campuses have erupted into full-on protest mode against the genocide in gaza. we stand with university students and their right to protest ✊🏽

Repost• @bay2gaza Urgent: The Turkish government is meeting in a matter of hours to decide whether they will let the @gazafreedomflotilla leave to deliver 5,500 tons of aid to Gaza.
The US is pressuring Turkey to refuse our ships to set sail.
Call the US State Department to tell them to respect international law and allow aid into Gaza.

Chief Mandla Mandela @nkosizwelivelile of the Mvezo Traditional Council, the Amir of the Royal House of Mandela, and the grandson of former President Nelson Mandela shares real time reaction to hearing that the @gazafreedomflotilla is officially setting sail to break the siege on Gaza this Friday, April 26th.
❤️🔥🚢 We will set sail to break the siege on Gaza this Friday, April 26th!!!
RP 📣@gazafreedomflotilla We have completed all technical and crewing requirements in order to launch the Freedom Flotilla to Gaza on Friday April 26, 2024. Our final group of participants are undergoing the required nonviolent direct-action training today.
Our Flotilla will carry over 5000 tons of life-saving aid and hundreds of human rights observers. We are working diligently to move our boats to a port in Istanbul where the paperwork procedures for hundreds of participants can be completed, to allow for boarding beginning on Friday morning.
“The Freedom Flotilla has the support of millions around the world who are outraged at the failure of our governments to protect the Palestinians people from Israel’s genocidal actions, including the deliberate starvation of over two million people,” said Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) Steering Committee member Zohar Chamberlain-Regev.
Huwaida Arraf, U.S. human rights attorney and FFC Steering Committee member added, “Governments must refuse to collaborate in maintaining Israel’s illegal siege on Gaza by obstructing the Flotilla in any way. We call on the governments of the 40 countries represented on this Freedom Flotilla to uphold their obligations under international law and demand that Israel guarantee the flotilla safe passage to Gaza.” @huwaida.arraf

Israel doesn’t want our flotilla to set sail because they know we represent the will, heart and moral compass of the global majority. Try as they might, the Israeli government will not break our resolve. We will break the siege on Gaza and do what our governments are failing to do.
RP @gazafreedomflotilla For immediate release, Thursday April 25.
The Freedom Flotilla is ready to sail. All the required paperwork has been submitted to the port authority, and the cargo has been loaded and prepared for the trip to Gaza.
However, today we received word of an administrative roadblock initiated by Israel in an attempt to prevent our departure.
Israel is pressuring the Republic of Guinea Bissau to withdraw its flag from our lead ship—Akdeniz (“Mediterranean”). This triggered a request for an additional inspection, this one by the flag state, that delays our April 26 planned departure.
This is another example of Israel obstructing the delivery of life-saving aid to the people in Gaza who face a deliberately created famine.
How many more children will die of malnutrition and dehydration because of this delay and an ongoing siege, which must be broken?
This is not the first time that Israel has used these kinds of tactics to stop our ships from sailing.
We have overcome them before and are diligently working to overcome this latest attempt. Our vessels have already passed all required inspections and we are confident that the Akdeniz will pass this inspection provided there is no political interference.
We expect this to be no more than a few days delay. Israel will not break our resolve to reach the people of Gaza.

We will not be deterred. We will be back to sail bigger and bolder to break the siege of Gaza.
Today on @democracynow: “Amidst the mounting humanitarian disaster in Gaza, hundreds of activists aboard the @gazafreedomflotilla Freedom Flotilla were blocked in Turkey Saturday as they attempted to set sail for the besieged Palestinian territory. Organizers say Guinea-Bissau withdrew its flagged ships under pressure from Israel.
“This is not the end. We are pursuing this legally and politically,” says organizer and Palestinian American human rights attorney Huwaida Arraf @huwaida.arraf
@0mgaza follwo me plz
Hello, I am Majd from Gaza. I created a Go Found Me link in order to treat my sick son and evacuate my family from Rafah. Please donate to me, if only a little, and if you cannot, share my campaign with your friends and in your stories.💔😔🍉
Please donate to me, even a little, for my children, not for me 🍉😭😭😭
I don’t know why I’m not being helped. Is it because I’m a simple citizen and not a famous person? My house, my work office, and everything were destroyed, and we were bombed while we were at home, and I have all the proof of that

Voices of Palestine is an independent group of artists, producers, media makers, advocates, and humanitarian workers, mobilizing our platforms in this critical moment to amplify Palestinian voices on the ground, and to raise resources for urgent evacuations and material support for Gazan refugees once in Egypt.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who donated, Voices of Palestine raised forty thousand dollars with the first two rounds of posts, making it possible for SafeBow to finalize our registered evacuations, and to build out our collaborative work with Denizens Society and Project Watermelon, both who provide material and medical aid for Gazan Palestinians once they are in Egypt.
So much gratitude to Dr. Abu Warda, Daiana AlBukhari, and Afaf AlNajjar for sharing their personal stories from the ground in Gaza, and to Rowan Blanchard, Sara Ramirez, Cynthia Nixon, Poppy Liu, Ashley Lukashevsky, Alana Hadid, and everyone else who has amplified their voices.
The Voices of Palestine initiative helped SafeBow reach its goals, and now we hope you’ll join us in sending love and resources towards the urgent work of Denizens Society, a trusted group that is supporting Gazans arriving in Egypt.
The people of Gaza are calling out for the world to witness their resilience and hopes. Please join us in responding to that call urgently, and from the heart.
Join us in taking action now.
The student demand is clear: divest from genocide NOW.
Support the student movement in leveraging their tuition dollars to hold universities accountable to their deeply embedded investments with Zionism, weapons manufacturers, and all partnerships connected to the genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.
