Sometimes good people get caught in bad bits… (like this classic I’ve been doing since I was in kindergarten. Four decades of THE SAME BIT. Its the one thing I feel qualified to teach a class in 🙂
Someone please tag the Anthony Kiedis biopic’s casting director. And yes, I realize I’ll have to spend a lot of time in the gym. And take singing classes. And cool classes. And not wear glasses. And I realize it’s going to be a long casting process… it’s an important role so they’re not just gonna give it away, give it away, give it away now. And I obviously won’t be making lame jokes like that while I’m in character as Anthony 🤓🌶️#RedHotChiliAuditioner

Happy Mother’s Day!!! From me and “Mother” (the talented @matthewpatrickdavis ) from “Barbarian” 🍼😘
The most deliciously memorable vegan meal, a kiss from Miles Davis and the chance to publicly thank SUCH a talented staff of culinary greats. A huge thank you to @danielhumm for inviting us to his incredible ( incrediBLY) totally plant-based restaurant @elevenmadisonpark. Daniel talks about his radical decision to transform the world renowned 3-star Michelin restaurant into a climate and animal-friendly vegan experience on the latest episode of @lifeisshortpodcast. We also talk about his involvement w @rethinkfood, a non-profit working to build a more sustainable and equitable food system (to date they’ve made and distributed over 13.5 million meals in NYC). And for those of you interested in making a switch to a more plant-based diet, check out Daniel’s new book, appropriately titled, “Eat More Plants”. 🌻❤️

On this 45th (😬🤯!) birthday, I’m feeling so grateful to have so much love in my life and to have my health. I’ve been off my phone (and Instagram) the last few weeks exploring the INCREDIBLE country of Ecuador – the fulfillment of a childhood dream courtesy of my sweet generous wife. We’re both very attached to @cmnhospitals for personal reasons and hope that you join us, if you can, in supporting children’s hospitals and the 12 million kids treated every year #ChangeKidsHealth P.s. for my @lifeisshortpodcast listening friends (“shorties”) I cannot WAIT to share my adventures with you all. This trip to beautiful Ecuador has been truly life-changing: the kindness of the people, the FOOD🤯, and the dazzling array of biodiversity. These pictures are from an incredible (and sustainable) place in the middle of the Choco rainforest called @mashpilodge – we fell in love with the plants and animals and the team of dedicated staff tasked with protecting them. Can’t wait to share our experience with you all ❤️🇪🇨

The best date night… Before the incredible music (thanks @alisonkrauss @robertplantofficial!) torrential downpour, withholding of addictive snacks by rascally wife, and broken nose capillaries (iykyk 😉 👇 As discussed on the latest ep of “Life Is ShortER” @lifeisshortpodcast

#tbt a Rockwell / Hamilton sandwich during my brief but unfortunate “fedora phase” 😬 Josh (on the right) and I were doing a play I really loved called “An intervention” by the English playwright Mike Bartlett. Sam was doing a play by some guy named Sam Shepherd 🤔 After our respective intense shows, we would meet up at a bar that is no longer open to unwind and have some much-needed laughs. What an insanely fun summer that was. And a huge part of that fun was getting to work with Josh Hamilton, an actor I’d admired since I was a teenage indie-movie snob in the early 90’s. Check out Josh in “Reality” out now on @hbo. I haven’t seen it yet but I already know he’s great in it because he’s never not great in everything he’s in. (Let’s see if he disagrees in the comments 😉
One of these guys is going on a phone-free vacation for the next couple o’ weeks! The other two will continue on, without their mediator, being adorably adversarial #HappyAndRoo #GarfieldAndOdieVibez #furnemies✌️
I #still smile when I hear the opening chords of the theme song to “Family Ties” – it preceded a half hour spent with the Keaton family that was guaranteed to be a blast. Reruns ran twice a day around noon and watching them was the highlight of being sick and “having” to stay home from school when I was a kid. Easily the best part of the show was watching the actor who played Alex P Keaton: Michael J Fox. As my young brain was beginning to understand what “cool” and “funny” were, he became THE coolest and funniest. As he began to act in movies, I eagerly watched them all. I’ll never forget experiencing “Back to the Future” at our local theater (before the town next to us got a big multiplex). My seven year-old brain was blown. It was probably THE moment I fell madly in love with movies. Then came trips back to the theater to see him in “Teen Wolf” and “The Secret of My success” and later, his brilliant work in “Bright Lights, Big City”, “Light of Day” and “Casualties of War” – all of which I had to wait until I was in high school to watch because they were R rated. By then, I had begun falling in love with acting – and my matchmaker was Michael J Fox. Whenever he appeared in a new movie, I bought a ticket. I saw them all: “Life With Mikey”, “For Love Or Money”, “Greedy”. Years later, now an actor myself (who understands that there’s much more to life than movies and acting), I admire Mike for the person he is – which, to me, is the embodiment of courage and human perseverance. But, as his latest movie clearly demonstrates, he’s also #still the funniest and coolest. I cannot recommend #Still enough – it’s out now on @appleTV.
