Returning to Cameroon, Africa was such an unbelievable experience for me! First and foremost, I am so happy to have been able to see my father and my family in good spirits. Since the paternal side of my family is all in Cameroon, it was wonderful to finally spend a little time together again. The way I was received by the people upon my arrival in Cameroon also felt very much like a family welcoming me home—it was warm, excited, and very loving. It was an honor to spend time with my fellow Cameroonians during the press conferences, interviews, and meet-and-greet that were organized for the week I was visiting. I am very proud to be from Cameroon and my goal will always be to use any influence I can to shine light on the country, what it has to offer, and the talented, hard working people who live there. I want to say a special thank you to @bounshotels for hosting me in the amazing penthouse suite for the week, and to all the media outlets, videographers, photographers who covered the events of the week. The advice I would give anyone who wants to take their life to the next level…📈 These are not in any particular order but I believe the following skills to be the top qualities of a leader and a well rounded person: 💡Emotional Intelligence – If you do not become the master of your emotions, you will waste so much energy. Learn to control what you can control, and let the rest go. It will save you an incredible amount of stress. 💡Authenticity – always be true to yourself, no matter who it disappoints or upsets. Don’t be afraid to say NO to things that don’t align with your true self. If you pretend to be someone you are not, eventually the real you will come to the surface and you will delay your destiny in life. 💡Calculated Risks – Playing it safe rarely gets you ahead in life. Risks that are calculated are risks that you can survive. It’s okay to take a risk and fail because failing is learning, but always make sure you have other options too. 💡Financial Literacy – If you cannot manage $100, you will never be able to manage $1000. Take control of your finances, be organized with your money, find ways to make your money stretch, and even if you own the business, always act like you want a discount. 💡Healthy Lifestyle – the price you will pay later in life for not being healthy is death. It’s simple. There is no excuse in 2024 not to take care of yourself, be mindful of what you eat, avoid substances that are harmful, and make the time to exercise. Which skill do you need to work on? Dealing with grief as an adult can be challenging, but there are healthy ways to cope with the loss of someone you love. Whether it is due to a breakup, ending a friendship or the passing of a loved one, grief can take a toll on us emotionally and physically. Even if it was many years ago, I still have ways to cope with the loss of my mom when I was young. Over time, I had to find deep strength and recognize how grief was showing up in my life. I had to find myself and find solutions to deal with what I was experiencing. If any of you are going through something similar, I can share a few things that have helped me. Exercise – the perfect healthy outlet to release negative energy/thoughts and maintain a sense of control during difficult times Therapy – a professional can definitely give you insights and tools to understand and navigate your feelings. They can help you understand how grief manifests itself in your life and how to heal Connect – with friends and family who love you.
