Growing up, football players were the DEFINITION of unreachable, even more than movie stars. We’d play at recess at school, then of course FIFA at home where we’d pass the ball to the fastest players and make a run for it. Fast forward 15 years and somehow I got to play with and against several childhood heroes while raising funds for education.. Kaka, Hazard, Roberto Carlos, Drogba, Villa, Makelele, Tim Cahill, Arsene Wenger, Antonio Conte… Doesn’t make any sense. To be honest I hadn’t ran on a pitch in 10 years and feeling my rusty 30-year-old legs motivated me a TON to get back into better cardio. (Don’t tell anyone I got nutmegged to then concede a goal pls). My favorite part however was the small interactions: getting a 5min sports massage before the game next to Drogba then jumping in his arms once he scored 😅 talking in the hallway with Eden Hazard, or trying to convince Antonio Conte to let me back on the pitch.. Once in a blue moon we get these seemingly impossible to open doors flung open, and this was a wild one. Grateful for the experience and for the millions of dollars raised 🙏

As I was journaling a few months ago, it felt very clear to me that this isn’t the end of any chapter in our story, it’s the end of the final chapter of the first book of the @YesTheory story. Some say that life often falls into 7 year cycles, and in this last year was our 7th going into our 8th and strangely so much has come to an end and new chapters have opened. In life, you hit forks in the road from time to time, and we don’t all chose the same path, but we’ll keep exploring this strange and extraordinary experience we all share called life, just in different directions. (I’m sure I’ll convince Matt to come back for some epic trips from time to time.. But for now the rest of us will go on without him and I’m sure he’s got an amazing new adventure to come as well..) In the most beautiful of ways, Matt literally wrote the book that captures this first cycle called “Talk to Strangers”. What it took for us to start this channel, to trust each other as strangers and to grow up as brothers and eventually part ways. I hope you’ll support him for his final good-bye on YesTheoryBook.com 🪽 On my end I feel like I’m just getting started 😉 see you all soon ✌️
Growing up right outside of Paris, then moving to Montreal and LA, I’ve only ever lived in major cities 🏙️ Remote and isolated rural villages that seem almost exempt from the passage of time have thus fascinated me for years now. Opening a gate to our past. These places are becoming less and less common however as younger generations no longer want the rural lifestyle and move to live in cities instead. As I spent time researching where our next epic travel expedition could be, I landed on Ushguli, in the stunning and underrated country of Georgia. Rumored to be the most isolated village in Europe, we dove deeper into research, only to find that there may be an even more remote and impossible to access village deeper into the mountains. So we went to both. It took us 2 months to find safe enough weather window to access the second one however.. ⛰️🚁 We just uploaded the story that I’m so proud of our team for, it took many people to make this story happen. May the moments we captured immortalize these villages and its people, and our memory of this way of life never to be forgotten ✨

This is one of the most important places in the world, but almost no one has ever heard of it. Welcome to Semipalatinsk, the secret Nuclear Test Site where the Soviets created, experimented with and detonated 456 of their nuclear weapons ☢️ Those who have seen Oppenheimer, this is where Kurchatov, the “Soviet Oppenheimer” created their nuclear weapons in complete secrecy. Throughout the entire Cold War and even way after the fall of the Soviet Union this site was completely erased from all maps. No one knew it existed and even the locals of the area didn’t understand what the giant mushrooms that turned the clouds black really were for a long time. Information was very limited. My friend @jwang815 went there a few months ago (an acount you should definitely follow if you like unique travel content) and I couldn’t stop thinking about it since then. No one had ever properly documented this place on YouTube however, until now. In our journey we got to speak to first-hand witnesses of the events who had never shared their stories before. May these stories bring us to our senses for peace to shine through in our future generation of leaders 🤲 📸 @cory.s.martin masterclass as always 🤌
